DISTILLING SUCCESS ➖
✨ Happy International Women’s Day 2025‼️

This International Women’s Day, we’re reflecting on the impact, innovation, and leadership of in the industry, past, present, and future. Earlier this week, Inverarity Morton proudly hosted our 'Women in Whisky' event 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 in , bringing together colleagues, guests, and industry leaders to celebrate the remarkable contributions of women in our field.

In collaboration with - brand with a rich, female-led history - we raised a glass to the women shaping the whisky industry today. *The Macallan’s legacy of female leadership dates back to Janet Harbinson (“Nettie”), who took over the distillery in 1918 and played a pivotal role in shaping its success. Under her stewardship, Macallan produced its most valuable bottle to date, the 1926 Fine & Rare, which later became the most expensive whisky ever sold at auction‼️ Her dedication set the foundations for the brand’s continued excellence, with women still driving its innovation today.

Our IM evening began with a perfectly poured welcome drink in the at , which set the tone for a night of inspiring conversation, and of course, appreciation for whisky‼️ We then enjoyed a delicious meal at , and the dinner’s courses were expertly paired with selections from our IM portfolio by Marna Farrell, our Wine Development Manager.
A huge thank you to everyone who attended, and to Georgia Porteous from Edrington for her insights and contributions. Here’s to the women who continue to shape the whisky world ➖ on International Women’s Day 2025, and every day..🥃🤝

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 | Celebrating Inspirational Voices 🥃

As we countdown to International Women’s Day this Saturday, 8th March, we are delighted to share an exclusive excerpt from our with Danielle Murphy, Sales Manager Specialist @ Ian MacLeod Distillers.

⬛️ What first drew you to working in the whisky industry?
"Scotland as a country is just this wee ball of pure magic that is full of colourful people and stories, that can sometimes be peppered with a bit of poetic licence. Throw in this product that is made right here, by those very people, that has so much history stepped within its walls, and you have what I call the best job in the world.
You can teach people about whisky, but you cannot teach people to love it. Working within the industry is certainly a passion."

⬛️ What advice would you give to young women interested in entering the whisky industry?
"The majority of women I have seen that work in the whisky industry are a very strong and robust bunch, and know what we want. Yes, it is a male-dominated industry, but please do not let that put you off. Us women have a better sense of smell than men, fact. As long as you are willing to literally roll a barrel, stay curious and have the ability to talk for Scotland (about whisky), then you will certainly draw the right attention. Join whisky clubs and get nosing and tasting, asking questions along the way. The Pot Still has their very own Whisky Club just for women, and that started 10 years ago. Geraldine who runs it had that vision all those years ago, and stuck to her guns and made it happen (as well as running a pub and having 3 kids)."

⬛️ How do you see whisky evolving in the next decade?
"I have worked in the industry now for 20 years, and it's fantastic to see lots of new small independent distilleries open up over the past 10 years. Whisky is not a fast moving industry and working for an Independent company like lan Macleod has taught me that success is the sum of small things done correctly.
The image of Scotland plays an integral part in whisky evolution, and we need to keep telling those fascinating stories about the history of whisky.
Sensory journeys and experiences are more important than ever now to get people to understand what makes one dram taste different to the next dram. Listening to your customers is very important as we can have the best liquid in the world, but if your customer doesn't buy into that then, that liquid means nothing."

From 'Traveller’s Tales to Whisky Sales', Danielle’s story highlights the passion, expertise, and dedication that women continue to bring to the whisky industry. 📖 Read the full interview in the March issue of our Brochure..🥃 Slàinte to all the inspirational women shaping the world of whisky‼️

Clydeside Distillery Whisky ⬇️

◼️ NAPIER ➖ 100% sherry cask matured
Robert Napier (1791-1876) rightly regarded as the ‘Father of Clyde Shipbuilding’, had three main mantras, ‘quality, quality, quality.’ His appetite for invention and innovation in steam engine and ship-building design saw him rub shoulders with royalty and European emperors. From the fastest and first iron-hulled ships for the Royal Navy, to the quickest Atlantic crossing, he was a man ahead of his time, setting the template for future generations of shipbuilders.
From his Govan yard, he carried the ‘Clydebuilt’ legend around the globe, with his signature vermilion and black hooped ships’ funnels becoming a worldwide trademark when he went into business with legendary Canadian shipping-magnate, Samuel Cunard.
The Clydeside Distillery, which sits just opposite Napier’s original shipyard, is proud to have applied his name, and mantra - ‘quality, quality, quality’ - to its latest release, a characterful Lowland malt, matured for over 6 years in Oloroso sherry casks.

Nose: ripe berry, sweet rose and tropical tones
Palate: orange marmalade, cherry and vanilla

🟥 STOBCROSS ➖ Bourbon and sherry casks marriage
The ancient state of Stobcross was named after a historic cross which once marked the route to Dumbarton Rock. On this road, in the 1600s, the Anderson family built a fine mansion, Stobcross House, later going on to lay out the prosperous weaving village of Anderston. With time comes change, and in 1875, with the industrial rise of the River Clyde, Stobcross House was demolished to make way for the Queen’s Dock – once the beating heart of Glasgow’s global maritime trade and fame.
Today in the Dock’s former Pumphouse, built in 1877, that spirit of innovation continues with the combination of experience, passion, and skill to create The Clydeside Distillery’s first release, ‘Stobcross’ – a single malt, rooted in history. Time and tide might have changed the Clyde, but the city’s spirit of innovation and creation still burns bright.

Nose: floral notes, fresh sweetness with tropical tones
Palate: orchard fruits and hints of white pepper
