It's not long now until another load of food donations will be collected from The Gatehouse Store and taken across to the Stewartry Food Bank in Kirkcudbright. Food Bank organisers comment that as we go into the coldest months of the year, they will be happy to accept donations of all foodstuffs and toiletries. The last Stewartry Foodbank uplift from the Gatehouse Store before Christmas is on Monday (2nd) in order to allow time for preparation of Christmas parcels which are distributed to all those who have needed the help of the Foodbank through the year.

As well as basic foodstuffs, these boxes contain some extra treats to brighten up the Christmas holidays for our families: items such as tins of ham or salmon, fancy and savoury biscuits, shortbread, mince pies, cake, sweets and chocolates. Please note, we no longer include presents.

As these boxes are distributed in the week before Christmas so please check that the Best Before dates are far enough ahead (Particularly necessary for mince pies)

The normal work of the Food Bank continues through December and into January, so all the usual foodstuffs and toiletries are still welcome.

If you need help from the Food Bank you can call 07837658177 in confidence.

Many thanks to Francois and Stephanie and all the team at the Gatehouse Store for their continuing support with the Food Bank. You can also leave food donations at the Keystore and Co-op in Kirkcudbright. Please note that food left at the collection point in Tesco Kirkcudbright does does go to the Stewartry Foodbank.
