Good news everyone!! Today our son came into the world! As you can imagine, we’ve been quite busy, but we’re all doing ok. We will be open tomorrow, but only 8am - 11am. This is earlier than we originally stated - sorry for any inconvenience.
Sunday will be 8am - 2pm.
Monday 8am - 3pm. (No post office). Thank you for your understanding. Neeraja and Jey.

Hello again everyone! This is a bit delayed, but we still really want to say- a massive thank you to you all for your warm welcome, kind words, and best wishes towards us. We really appreciate you all.

On that note we are also grateful for your patience! We have a lot to get used to and a lot to learn; but we will always try our best to serve your needs well. Finally, the card payment is working now!!! We apologise for the delay in sorting card payments! The refurbishment isn’t going to happen as soon as wanted, all we can say is - it will be worth waiting for!!

We are really enjoying being part of Bishop Middleham, and are impressed with the community spirit. A special mention must go to the secondary school children, who always speak nicely and seem very polite.

We may not comment much on this forum, but we enjoy chatting to you and getting to know you in person when you come into the post office.

Busy times ahead (especially when our new arrival comes along!) but we will keep you posted as best we can.

Hello everyone in beautiful Bishop Middleham! We’re so happy to be running your local Post Office and serving the community, so we’d like to introduce ourselves.
I’m Neeraja (pronounce it near-a-jar). I’m originally from Sri Lanka, but have lived in England for 15 years. My husband is Jey; we’ve been married for 6 years. We have a daughter, Louiza, who is 4, and in the next few weeks we will be welcoming our baby son!
We do have experience of running a shop, but we are keen to learn from you too - please tell us what you’d like to see in the shop, what you don’t like, what we’re doing well, or how we can best serve your needs. We have plans to refit the shop to make it more appealing and to include more stock, though this is going to take time and careful planning. In the meantime, please be patient with us!
We are bound to make some mistakes along the way, but we look forward to journeying along together and becoming friends. Looking forward to meeting you in person. Neeraja, Jey and Louiza.

Temporarily shop opening hours
Monday to Friday - 7 am to 6pm
Saturday - 7:30 am to 6pm
Sunday - 8 am to 6pm

We are temporarily accepting cash only. Our card machine is currently not working. We apologise for the inconvenience.
