🥃Ballot - Springbank 30 Year Old 2024 Release🥃

Thank you to all that entered the ballots last week and congratulations to those of you that bagged a bottle!

The illusive 30 year old from Springbank has aromas of ripe bananas, clotted cream and butterscotch - what a lovely start to the dram. The palate is tropical with juicy fruits, coconut and blood orange which are all nicely balanced with light peat smoke.

You must have purchased a 70cl bottle of whisky from Drink Finder between January 1st 2024 and the ballot deadline - 2nd July 10am (tomorrow)

⚠️Ballot⚠️ - Springbank 12 Year Old Cask Strength

Good things come to good folk that wait. First up in the Springbank ballots this week we have the Springbank 12 Cask Strength that packs a punch of Campbeltown character.

Notes of marzipan, smoked meats and smokiness akin to burnt matches. The palate is smoky with earth notes which produce a little nuttiness.

It's back! The second release of batches of single malt whisky from Isle of Harris Distillery is now available in our store and online for nationwide delivery.

Isle of Harris single malt is a lightly pleated dram made with 100% Concerto Barley from Scotland. Notes of orchard fruits, ginger, honey and vanilla with gentle peat smoke.

Get them while you can, if it's anything like the first release of batches they will not hang around for very long with the high demand!

Some eager eyed customers noticed the recent addition of AON 18-443 which is a very special single cask STR (shaved, toasted and re-charred) ex-red wine cask, chosen by the small team at Nc'Nean of quiet rebels to be bottled exclusively for Independent spirit retailers in England. As with all spirits released from this distillery this is certified Organic!


After sitting down together to taste a handful of cask samples, they selected this decadently creamy whisky for its moreish flavours of sticky toffee pudding, buttery fudge and fruit crumble. A trio of quintessentially English sweet treats - perfectly apt for this release of just 302 bottles which can be found in the crème de la crème of English spirits shops (including us 😎).

Aging mellows a spirit, it also brings out new flavours and aromas. The Don Q Gran Reserva contains rums that have been aged 9 to 12 years and solera rums that have been aged up to 50 years which in turn creates a balance between sweet and dry that you won't get in other spirits.

Similar to Vintage Port, the 2009 Late Bottled Vintage is a single-year wine. However, it's not a "declared" Vintage Port. Vintage Port spends just two years in casks before maturing in the bottle. In contrast, LBV is aged in casks for four to six years before bottling. This particular Warre's Late Bottled Vintage was bottled ready to drink and will stay good for two or three weeks after opening. There's no need to decant it.

Ballot - Springbank 25 Year Old 2024 Release

We have a very limited amount of bottles of these available for web sales and are running a ballot for the illusive Springbank 25 Year Old.

The nose is intense with cherry menthol sweets, rich blood orange, milk chocolate, stewed fruits and apple crumble. The palate has lots of musty, earthy and oily notes. Subtle peat which is only apparent in the background.
