We are still appealing for witnesses after items were stolen from Costcutter on Manor Green Road in Epsom on 19 October at around 8.30am.

The incident involved a man and woman leaving the shop with some stolen alcohol and when a man in the shop tried to intervene, he was pushed by the male suspect.

There were several customers in the shop at the time, so if you witnessed this incident, or you were the man who intervened, please contact us quoting PR/45240121449 via direct message.

Very productive meeting. Thank you to Police and Crime Commissioner for Surrey for organising it

Shoplifting, anti-social behaviour and police visibility were among the issues raised at yesterday evenings Policing Your Community roadshow.

Epsom and Ewell residents had the opportunity to share their views on crime and policing with Police and Crime Commissioner Lisa Townsend, Surrey Police’s Chief Constable Tim De Meyer, and Borough Commander Kelly Clifton-Sinclair.

The evening began with updates from the Force, and Insp Clifton-Sinclair shared news of recent successes in the borough, including ‘Op Campfire’, which targets acquisitive crime including burglary, robbery and car theft. A series of significant arrests have been made through the operation, including that of a man sentenced to two years in prison.

Questions were asked on a range of topics, including:

🚔 Shoplifting in villages
🚔 The early release of some prisoners to relieve overcrowding in prisons
🚔 Anti-social behaviour committed on bikes
🚔 Our response times
🚔 The availability of police statistics on crime
🚔 The Commissioner’s lobbying activities for fairer funding from the Government

We’d like to thank everyone who joined us at the Community and Wellbeing Centre in Sefton Road.
