Job Description
We currently have an opportunity within our team for a Retail Assistant!
Established in 1963, Henry Graham SPAR is an independent family run business that prides itself on providing everyday essentials in a friendly and convenient way. In addition to our Fuel, Grocery, Off-License and household selection, SPAR is the perfect place to grab hot pastries, sandwiches and more.
As a Retail Assistant you will be the forefront of our store delivering friendly and helpful customer service. You’ll take it upon yourself to provide help and assistance to our loyal customers and ensure they find everything they need whilst they are in our store.
Here’s What You Can Expect To Be Doing Day to Day
• Encourage sales by providing excellent customer service
• Control costs and waste though efficient merchandising
• Operate the till and ensure safe cash handling
• Control and replenish stock levels regularly
• Monitor store security
• Ensure you maintain effective customer service, health and safety, and food and hygiene
• General cleaning and maintenance duties
• Maintain and up date administration in accordance with existing procedures
The Ideal Person For The Role Would Have
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• A helpful and friendly personality and enjoys working with the public
• Enthusiasm, reliability, commitment and self motivation
• A willingness to adopt a ‘can do’ attitude to challenging situations
• A flexible approach to working hours
• The ability to work as part of a team but also on their own initiative
• Previous experience in retail is preferred but not essential
Hours / Rota
28-35hrs per week on a flexible rota including weekends.
Part-time hours: 28-35
