Margiotta is a family run, independent, local chain of grocery stores in the Scottish Capital and has been offering a one-stop shop for various communities for over two decades. With 8 stores located on Dundas Street, Warrender Park Road, Ashley Terrace, Lasswade Road, Comiston Road, Polwarth Gardens, Mayfield Road and Forrest Road. We are proud to be Edinburgh's largest independent food retailer.

We now proudly have two stores In East Lothian also, in Aberlady and Gullane! With a mix of everyday items, we also stock locally-sourced products, organic produce, Italian delicacies, fine wines and craft beers. These are deeeelicious! These crunchy, chewy, decadent little beauties are packed with fruits and nuts (like, jam packed)! They’re great with butter, cheese, fruits, charcuterie, pâté and also, just on their own as a quick snack! They also look stunning on the plate so there’s really nothing not to enjoy about these little wonders.

🍞 Let’s talk loaves 🍞

Who doesn’t love the smell (and taste) of freshly baked bread first thing? Exactly, we all love it!

The reason all of our stores smell so good in the morning is because our in-store bakers bake off our Margiotta rolls, pastries and loaves on-site every morning just in time for our stores opening, so that you can choose from the freshest offering. We’ve also teamed up with legendary Edinburgh bakery for the more specialised delicacies.

We have a broad selection to choose from too, including morning rolls, baguettes, plain and filled pastries, seeded and sourdough loaves, and even some tasty tartlets too!

The question is, how to resist…?

Continuing our appreciation produce this week with these delicious beauties 🫘🌱

For a balanced healthy diet, regularly eating beans is recommended. They are in fact counted as a protein source AND a vegetable! Two birds with one stone! or... one bean. They’re the original plant protein. Aka, the most natural meat replacement there ever was.

Each bean variety is suited to different growing conditions, so source their beans from the best possible climate for each one. They also season the beans throughout the cooking process like proper chefs do! Their natural flavour is then enhanced in a way you simply can’t replicate after.

✨NEW PRODUCT✨ 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 🐮

Established in 2017, by Jane Mackie and her husband, Bruce, Rora Dairy produces a range of pure Scottish yogurts on their organic family farm in Aberdeenshire 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿.

All of the milk used in the yogurts is from the farm’s free-roaming, grass-fed cows 🐮 Sustainability is at the heart of the brand with the development of new woodland areas and the use of wind and solar power.

Rora Dairy yogurts are made with organic milk and live culture, without the addition of unnecessary sugar or additives. They use Scottish raspberries, strawberries & Heather Hills honey 🍯 to flavour the yogurts, making sure that what they use is all Scottish.

Their most recent addition - a high protein ‘greek style’ yogurt - has won 3 stars in the Great Taste Awards ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️.
This product is made in the traditional Greek yogurt method, by straining the whey from the yogurt over time. The result being a deliciously, thick yogurt.

Rora’s best selling yogurt is still their natural, which is simply made with organic milk and culture – and is fabulous for breakfast, snack time or as an ingredient to cooking and baking 🥣

Our NEW Margiotta Food & Wine will be launching at 126 Colinton Road, Edinburgh, in early December 🎄 Plenty of time to pop in before the holidays for your festive essentials and of course some (not so essential) tasty treats too!
