Edinburgh minimum order is £20 (for free delivery, under this we charge £4). We are out delivering on Monday, Wednesday and Friday within the bypass. UK minimum order for free delivery is £75 (under this we charge £7.50) and delivery take between 1-3 days depending on your location. Happy New Beer!

The first releases of the year range from the alcohol-free to the decidedly alcohol un-free. So whether you've chosen to take a wee break from the booze this month, or not, we've got you covered. New AF beers from Brew York and Vault City (in collaboration with We Can Be Friends) are tasty new additions to our extensive AF range, that includes, not just beers, but wines and spirits too!

If your January spirits were in need of lifting, Vault City's colourful "Iron Brew" special release is sure to do the trick. This year, alongside their classic take on Scotland's signature drink, they've pushed the boat out even further with an amped up Imperial offering; a creamy Raspberry Ripple number; and, a Bubblegum flavoured Iron BLUE! Don't lie, you're curious...

From the New Wave to the Classic, we've also had a restock of some of Cantillon's delicious Lambics and Geuzes in both large and small formats. These are unique beers that any sour lover should try!

MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM CORK & CASK

We are still open until 6pm tonight & then we will be taking 3 days off to eat, drink & be merry with pals & loved ones.

A huge thanks to everyone who has placed orders & visited us to pick up gifts & for their special festive dinner bottles.

It has been a joy to chat, be a part of your Christmas, hear all your delicious menus & help match things to the array of courses.

We have wrapped a lot of cans & bottles in holly jolly paper, packed a lot of boxes & made up a lot of beer gift packs. Energised by Christmas music & biscuits.

We will be back open on the 28th to help you get into the Hogmanay spirit.

To step back inside the López de Heredia winery is to step back in time. Founded in 1877, and little changed since, López de Heredia might not be quite the oldest winery in Rioja, but they are certainly the most tradition bound and least changed.

You read a lot of marketing fluff about ‘family winemaking tradition’, but at López de Heredia, it’s real. Maria José López de Heredia and her winemaker sister, Mercedes, couldn’t care less about wine fashions. They’ve been producing wines in the style their great grandfather did, where their wines slumber in their deep cellars for many years before release. The quest for perfection is of utmost importance, and no wine is released until it is ready.

We are lucky enough to have three cuvées from the winery at present from three great vintages - 2012, 2013 & 2016.
Ranging in price from £30-£50 a bottle, rarely can age worthy wine of this quality be found at this price.

Really special Rioja’s that would make a fantastic gift or addition to your festive table.

It’s not quite snow weather but we are still dreaming of a white Christmas! ☃️🌨️🎄

Cork & Cask will be open 10-9pm for the next few days, closing a wee bit early on Christmas Eve at 6pm so we can get our own presents wrapped & stockings hung up.

The website is live so if you know what you’d like & you’re in a rush you can always order for click & collect.

The whole team will be in over the next few days picking & packing like little elves listening to The Holly Dolly (Parton) Christmas album so please pop in if you’d like any advice or recommendations. We’d love to help make sure you get the right gift or the best bottle for your Christmas Day table.

We have one more Edinburgh local delivery day on Monday & then that’s it until the 30th.

We will be closed 25th, 26th & 27th, back open 10-8 for 28th - 31st. 🎆

New Blind Summit! ⛰️🥃

We are super excited that Blind Summit's new outturn of fabulous drams has hit our shelves just in time for Christmas. This plucky micro bottler is a year old now, and they've sure made an impression having so far crafted an incredible roster of unique whiskies. Blind Summit are true makers picking excellent whiskies to bottle, and perfectly embellishing them with intriguing, conscientiously-chosen, cask-finishes. With labels created by local artists, they're bottles are super pretty to look at too. Each of their small-batch releases has been a joy to taste, and this new outturn is no different.

It includes:

A 25 YO Blend from a Sherry Butt, which is all about lovely dried fruit, with an old grain sensibility. 1 of 95 bottles.

A 9 YO Benriach in Pedro Ximenez: a rum raisin bonanza. 1 of 210 bottles.

A 9 YO Caol Ila finished in Tawny and Oloroso casks that give a lovel vinous lift to this Islay malt. 1 of 145 bottles.

Perfect drams to gift and enjoy this festive period! 🥃

Two organic sparkling wines made in the Champagne method to get us in the spirit! There is a barrage of events and parties with work, school, friends & family coming up & it feels they start earlier every year. Having a delicious bottle of fizz ready in your fridge is no bad thing!

Adenats Cava (Spain)

This organic Cava offers great value & is full of apple, honeyed citrus & quince flavours with a dry crisp finish.

Benedictins BdB Sparkling (France)

It offers a nutty & herbal-edged stone fruit character alongside a creamy texture & gentle effervescence.

Bonnet Huteau Les Laures Muscadet (France)

A must-try organic Muscadet, transforming Melon de Bourgogne grapes into something truly exceptional. Jamie & India have tasted with this winemaker many times in France & always love their site specific & terroir driven Muscadet.
This would be sublime with smoked salmon, sour cream & herbs over the festive period!

Tre Monti Sangiovese (Italy)

Intense fragrances of succulent red berries & dark cherry, with notes of black pepper. From old organically farmed vines of Sangiovese aged for 6 months in old oak giving a great example of deep Emilia Romagna Sangiovese. I think this would be especially brilliant for those having duck or goose on Christmas Day!

Chateau Picoron Ne de L’eden Bordeaux Rouge Merlot (France)

This organic Bordeaux will be a great bottle for Christmas Day meal or wintery stews as well as a Boxing Day cheese board.
This wine presents alluring aromas of ripe blackcurrants, plum & cherry, accented by hints of to***co & cedar. On the palate, it is medium to full bodied with velvety tannins. 🍷

Last but not least, it’s our top scoring wine from the fair! 🥇 🏆 🇬🇷

Samos Vin Doux (Greece)

The palate is lusciously mouth coating & the sweetness evokes fleshy apricot, peach & honeydew melon. A real treat!

We are decking the halls (filling the shelves) with lots of delicious whiskies this month (we pretty much do this every month - that’s our job!)

There are some special releases however that won’t last long.

We have the newly launched Lochlea Single Malt UK exclusive limited edition release finished in Overtone Stout Cask - wow what a title!

Lochlea Stout Cask Finish started life the same as Lochlea’s signature whisky – Our Barley – matured in a combination of bourbon, STR & oloroso sherry casks. The spirit was then placed into casks that had previously been loaned to Overtone Brewery to age their stout in a for around 8 months. The casks – originally from Lochlea before going to Overtone – were delivered back to the distillery, deliciously seasoned with the brewery’s distinctive rich stout beer – which has proved to be perfect for finishing our fruity & biscuity Lowland spirit.

Chorlton have sent us a small amount of each of these bottlings also showcasing some endearing single malts with some great age & cask maturation. Even including some mystery too which is always fun! 🕵🏻‍♀️ 🥃

Peallach 8 year old Peated malt from Tobermory bottled from a Rioja Barrique, one of only 293 bottles.

Ben Nevis 17 year old bottled from a bourbon barrel, one of only 285 bottles.

Speyside 17 year old from highly acclaimed secret distillery bottled from an oloroso hogshead, one of only 321 bottles.

It’s nearly Beaujolais Nouveau time!

The first wines of the year from France’s 2024 vintage will be free from their embargo this Thursday 21st (always the third Thursday in November)

A time to celebrate the first wines of the new harvest, a time to pause & be thankful for all the hard work done by so many hands to make the delicious wines of 2024.

Fresh, young, juicy Gamay from some of our favourite Beaujolais makers that we stock all year round. We got between 12-24 bottles of each of these & when they are gone they are gone!

You can pre-order online & collect in store from Thursday or we will be out delivering locally in Edinburgh on Friday.

Share with friends this weekend with some beautiful French cheese, pâté & saucisson sec.
These are also great for Thanksgiving turkey & cranberry sauce if you’re celebrating soon & looking for wine ideas.

New Beers and the start of the Festive Season!

As always, an eclectic mix of fun and delicious beers have arrived over the last couple of weeks. The whole gambit of styles! Whether it's a warming stout or brown; a crisp, interesting lager; or a hoppy, zesty IPA, these new releases have something for you.

We're not sure if it's too early, but we've even seen the beginnings of our Chrismas beers starting to trickle in. Perfect if you're eager to get the festive times rolling, or if, as has been a couple folk's idea, you're getting a head start on crafting that bespoke beer advent calendar for yourself or someone special.

More wine fair chat incoming… 🚨 🍷

If you missed out on tickets then quick, scroll on by!

Although it is called our Winter Wine Fair, ‘wine’ being the key word as it doesn’t even feel very wintery at the moment, there is not just wine to taste.
Of course there is a huge & incredible range of wines on offer but we also love to shine a light on other kinds of drinks & spirits.

We have a few tables tomorrow dedicated to independently bottled whisky from with some fantastic single malts. 🥃

Local Leith legends will be there with a table of gin, whisky, sherry & port plus their champagne! 🍾

Kim has a wonderfully varied table full of sake, cognac, amaretto, rum, whisky & liqueurs. Definitely worth a visit for festive gifts & dinner table inspiration.

As a nod to wine but showcasing its huge breadth as a category we also have lots of sherry of all styles open for sampling, Vermouth & dessert wines too.

This time tomorrow it will be in full swing! Woohoo 💃🏼 🕺🏻 🥳

Our Winter Wine Fair is on Saturday!

We are so excited to welcome you at Marchmont St Giles Church.

The fair is completely sold out! We were blown away by your eagerness to chat, taste & be merry again. So sorry for those of you who missed out this year. 🎟️

Here is a wee selection of wines that will be on tasting from some fantastic suppliers who we are lucky enough to work with. Hopefully they also get you in the mood for the weekend!
We will have wines open from around the world, from close to home in England to Greece, Slovakia, Portugal, Hungary, South Africa & many many more including some beautiful classic regions.

Many of the wines on show are made with organically farmed grapes & with minimal intervention in the winery. They are mostly made by small scale independent makers so amounts can be limited. As well as being available in the shop to pick up a bottle we will be taking orders on the day to help supply your future festive drinking. 🍷 🌲

The fair is from 1-5pm & there will be a lot of delicious things on offer so we hope you make it around as many as you can. We will have tasting booklets for marking your favourites! 🥇

The whole team will be on hand on Saturday, in the shop & at the church plus a few very wonderful volunteers so grab one of us if you need anything!

If you are unable to make it along, or didn’t manage to get a ticket in time, then all these wines will still be available to purchase & we will be fresh from tasting them so would love to tell you all about our favourites.

The November monthly wine pack is live online.

This month’s six pack includes 1 sparkling wine, 1 white wine, 1 orange wine, 2 red wines & a sweet white wine. Who says dessert wine is just for Christmas?! Get in the mood early & enjoy some decadence with your dinner.

Most of these wines will be on tasting on Saturday for our Winter Wine Fair so this is a good way to experience a little taste of it if you can’t make it along.

Vinicola Nulles Adenats Cava de Guarda Brut Nature (Spain)

A sparkling wine to get us in the spirit! There is a barrage of events & parties with work, school, friends & family coming up & it feels they start earlier every year. Having a delicious bottle of fizz ready in your fridge is no bad thing! This Cava is dry, made in the same method as Champagne but offers great value & is full of apple, honeyed citrus & quince flavours. 🥂 🍾

Sanha Branco 2021 (Portugal)

A linear, pure white wine with racy, briny lemon zest acidity & an elegant mix of floral & fresh green herbaceous notes. Serve with anything fishy or fresh grilled seafood. 🦞 🍋

Waas Semillon – Skin Macerated (South Africa)

A fruity, textured orange wine made from Semillon grapes grown in South Africa’s Paarl region. This is all about that juicy peach & apricot stone fruit character with a subtle tannin from extended skin maceration.

Bosbrand Carignan – Dry Farmed (South Africa)

This style of red can be brilliant with roast birds like Turkey & duck, also roasted pork, the fruit & spice flavours of the grape really harmonise with other spices such as cinnamon, cumin & five spice.

Cramele Recas Solevari Reserve Syrah (Romania)

This is a deep & full Syrah with aromas of cherries, blueberries, blackcurrants & violets. A midweek Autumn treat. 🍂 🍷

Samos Vin Doux 2022 (Greece)

This is a unique dessert wine from the Greek island of Samos, made from Muscat grapes. Vin Doux is a speciality of this island & is reknowned for its vibrant floral & fruity aromas which are further intensified & concentrated through a process of sun-drying, which gives the wine a richly sweet & exotically perfumed character.

It’s been a bit of a chilly misty start but things seem to be warming up! 🌤️ This pack has 5 bottles of wine & a sake as a wildcard! If you’ve never tried a sake but always been curious this would be a great start - it is an aperitif style sparkling one with a fruity sweetness. Light, refreshing & reminiscent of Moscato d’Asti. 🍾 The sake is a nod to the sakura season in Japan, which is coming to an end now but we are having our own version of it with Edinburgh & The Meadows at the end of our road having their own stunning display. 🌸🌸🌸 Details & tasting notes on all the wines are available online. IT’S NATIONAL MARGARITA DAY!!! 🎉 We don’t usually go in for celebrating all of the drink days on the calendar, we celebrate good booze every day… but margarita’s are a favourite around here with staff & regulars alike so we thought it deserved a shout out! 🥳 The sun is shining & we have plenty of tequila options for you from brilliant producers like @tequilatapatio @eljimadortequila Plus triple sec or Cointreau. We have no limes unfortunately but our neighbour stocks them! 🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞 If you don’t fancy shaking yourself a margarita tonight we also have the tiny & tasty Squeezy’s Margarita in the fridge too. When you pop by, Connor & Sam can advise on the best specs as well as twists & alternatives you can try along with your classic ingredients of: Tequila Triple Sec Lime Juice Feeling fruity?
