Edinburgh minimum order is £20 (for free delivery, under this we charge £4). We are out delivering on Monday, Wednesday and Friday within the bypass. UK minimum order for free delivery is £75 (under this we charge £7.50) and delivery take between 1-3 days depending on your location. A huge thank you to all who came to our Summer Fair on Saturday! 🍷 🍾 🍺 🍹 🍸

It was the busiest one yet!
Two rooms & a garden full of people chatting & tasting beer, cider, wine, gin, mezcal, champagne, pet nat & negronis….

We all had a brilliant day & it seemed like everyone who attended did too.

Thanks to the importers, makers & helpers who poured all day. Extra shout out to who kept everyone fed! 🌭

Meet The Maker!

We're so excited to have Jannet from Il Poggiarello Winery at our Summer Fair to pour and share the stories oh her wonderful wines.

Il Poggiarello is situated in the picturesque province of Piacenza, making wines from organic grapes that proudly honour the traditions of their region!

On show on Saturday will be a delicious array of their Sparkling and Still wines made from grape varieties like Ortrugo (white), Malvasia (white), Barbera (Red), and Bonarda (red) that are hallmarks of their Piacenza home!

We're excited to taste with Jannet! Definitely not something to miss out on if you're coming along this Saturday...

We are looking for a new full time member of the shop team to start in August.

We need a passionate person who loves beer, wine, cider & local independent spirits, all with a focus on excellent customer service.

Retail or on trade experience would be beneficial.

There may be a delivery aspect to the role for the business at peak times so a vehicle & clean driving licence would be a plus. 🚗

It's English Wine Week!

We are seeing more and more folk becoming excited about English Wine, and it's no surprise seeing as the offerings of both sparkling and still are getting seriously good! This week is all about showcasing this growing reputation for quality and celebrating with a glass of something delicious from down South.

Generally, these wines are perfect Summer refreshment as England's comparatively cool climate lends a lot of crispness and acidity to both reds and whites. The growing season continues long into mild autumns allowing the grapes to achieve ample ripeness and flavour.

If you've yet to try an English wine, or want to refamiliarise yourself, we'll be pouring some from two producers we work with this Saturday at our Summer Fair!

From Westwell, in Kent, we'll be showing a couple Sparklings: the "Pelegrim NV" and the "Unnaturally Petulant Pink", as well as their bright still Chardonnay and elegant Pinot Noir.

And from Henner's, we'll pour their delightfully toasty Fiennes Brut NV and their extremely refreshing Pinot Gris and Sauvignon Blanc - delicious summery aperitifs!

SUMMER FAIR LINE UP

ROOM 1:

Jannet, the winemaker from Poggiarello winery will be there chatting about her wines made in Emilia Romagna, Italy.

Moreno will have 2 sparklings to start from England & South Africa, followed by 12 other wines across France, Portugal, Germany, Spain & even includes a Sangria! ☀️

Alan from Alliance pouring 12 wines, including 2 sparklings & a selection from across Sicily, South Africa, Greece, Italy, France & Germany.

Johanna & Finn from new Edinburgh importer, Helix Wines. This is their first time pouring at one of our fairs, they will have Champagne and delicious organic wines from Portugal, Italy & Spain.

Roland will be back again for another year, pouring his usual crowd pulling mix of natural European wines from Romania, Hungary, Serbia & Slovakia.

Gus from Uncharted pouring 12 organic wines including 3 sparklings from Spain & England. There will be a big English focus here with the excellent wines of alongside some French favourites.

Moving onto spirits…

Hard Pressed Cider - George will have a table full of shop favourites from

Peter, the maker from Naughton Cider in Fife

James Clay with a mix of European & English beer

The line up for the Summer Fair is looking brilliant, and the weather forecast looks good too! 🌞

We will take over both sides of Marchmont St Giles Church with wine, cocktails & spirits in Room 1 and beer, cider & hot dogs in Room 2.

What’s not to love about that layout!? 🌭

Here are a few highlights from Room 1 with more teasers to come.

Tickets are £25, include all your tasters on the day & include a 10% off voucher to spend in the shop. You’re welcome to stay all day from 1-5pm or if you can only make a few hours then pop in when suits.

New Beers!

Lots of new beers in recently weeks - starting to see some of the cans that will be featuring at our summer fair in a couple weeks. Keep posted for more information about the many exciting things we'll be pouring!

We're excited to have the first beer in from Beak's new alcohol free project, Nolia. A nice addition to our strong selection of AF IPAs that really deliver flavour-wise!

We've now got the full Moonwake fruit salad (and a crisp, fruity NZ Pilsner). Perfect summery styles now the weather's a bit warmer. Come and sample some at the fair!

The Pink Pack!

Tomorrow is this guy’s last day. 😢

The Colonel. Sand Man. Sandy Claus.

He will be very much missed. So please pop by between 10am & 8pm tomorrow to wish him well!

Leaving behind a legacy of “safe music”, Torres crisps, Chartogne Taillet Champagne & putting items too high for India to reach.

The inventor of ‘Fun Lunch Thursday’, he is a tech wiz & dog lover.

From Covid deliveries to cheese recommendations, canned cocktails to cider & perry plus the very many homemade Basque cheesecakes he brought in… It has been a truly excellent 4 years!

Cork & Cask has developed so much in the time Sandy has been part of the team & he has been such a huge part of those changes. It won’t be the same without his laidback brand of chill. 😎

New Theory Wines

We're pumped about these new juicy, minimal-intervention wines from South Africa! Brothers Charlie and Thom Bradley are working with farmers around regions like Stellenbosch and Swartland to create fresh, new-wave styles that are very fun-loving and rather quaffable. One each of these and you're all set for a party!

With that in mind, we've put them all in a pack available on our website. A sparkling, an orange, a light red and a slightly fuller one - these naturally curate an evening with pals!

The Wines:

Pot Luck Pet Nat
This is made from South Africa's classic grape, Pinotage, and here shows a lot more freshness than the variety is typically known for. The grapes are grown at 500ft above sea level lending lovely freshness to this sparkler that also shows bright red berry and a touch of salinity.

White Lies Pinot Gris
A vibrant, clean skin-contact wine, with great aromatics. Lots of floras, pithy grapefruit and peachy tones.

Love Bite
This is a super fun light Cinsault that reminds us of bright Beaujolais. It's all concentrated red fruits with a bit of soft tannin for structure.

Growing Pains
This is Cinsault from old bush vines in Stellenbosch. Ten months in old oak creates a slightly more refined wine, that still retains all the energy of its compatriots. Here, the fruit profile takes a darker turn, expressing bramble and dark cherry and the texture is nice and supple.

Cantillons and Other New Beers!

Some very exciting things through the door this week!

We're really excited to have some delicious Cantillon back on the shelves. The special cuvées we've gotten in combine our love of beer and wine, both being lambics that have spent some time in contact with grapes from top French wine regions. The Saint Lamvinus is all about those wild berry tones, imparted by Bordeaux red grapes, and the Vigneronne has bright florals and peach from having been blended with Viognier grapes. These beers are meticulously crafted as always from Cantillon

We also received some fresh stocks of their Kriek, Geuze, and Rose de Gambrinus in big and small formats. All 75cls are limited to one style per customer to spread the Cantillon love!

There's also a bunch of summery styles flowing in from our favourite UK brewery's. Some sour highlights are the Forced Rhubarb Sour from and the Paloma sour from . But lots of other things too!
