Royal Mile Whiskies Interview Lochlea

Want to know more about how the team at Lochlea Distillery are doing things differently? Back in January, we visited the distillery to select a cask and had the absolute pleasure of interviewing their distillery manager, John Campbell. Check out the video below to find out more. It's an incredible dram, that's both faithful to the Lochlea style but something unlike anything released from the distillery before. New: We are excited to introduce our very own Lochlea Distillery Single Red Wine Cask, exclusively bottled for our shops and website: rmwlink.co/RMWLochlea Limited to a single cask, there are only 423 bottles of this whisky which has been fully matured in a Cabernet Sauvignon cask. We thought it was a fun, utterly bonkers dram of juicy blackcurrant, pear and apple, balanced with toasted malt and chocolate notes. We visited Lochlea distillery on the 24th of January 2023, the day before Burns night, as a team to select this bottling. Check out the video below where we talk a bit more about this dram and why it stood out. A big thanks to Lochlea for hosting our visit, John Campbell for talking us through the casks, and One Canon who are the brilliant bar in Edinburgh where we did our follow up staff video.
