Derrumbes Mezcal 🇲🇽

- Derrumbes’ exquisite range showcases the rich and varied landscape of mezcal and the diversity of the agave plant. Each bottling hails from a different mezcal-producing region and is made with a different species of agave.

From expressions produced in Oaxaca to those made in Michoacán and beyond, Derrumbes’ mezcaleros adhere to traditional methods, cooking their agaves in stone pits or small ovens called hornos using black oak.

Start your weekend right with some real interesting wine ! Made by a woman winemaker, the “Biodiverso” is 100% Petit Manseng, with 24 hours skin contact, and then aged in amphoras, where it develops flor, a process very common in sherry making. This wine has definitely developed some sherry like nuttiness from that, almonds, butter and spice unveil on the palate with a complexity and dryness which makes it a very versatile wine for food !

Start your weekend right with these two new delicious beers we got in this week ! The “Northern Switch” by x is bursting with juicy pineapple and passionfruit, with a distinct piney aroma and a hint of bitterness to balance it all out. The “Life on Märzen” by , is a cross between a Scotch ale and a lager, with a lovely sweet toffee like maltiness, earthy happiness and a sleek bitterness, making it a real treat !

There’s a couple new real juicy wines in this week ! Both by Andreas Gellman, a wonderful winemaker based in Austria with an amazing ethos to his winemaking, that puts nature and the environment above everything, supporting it instead of exploiting it. The “Zu Tisch” red, which is mainly Blaufrankisch and Zweigelt with a bit of St. Laurent, gives fizzy cherry vibes, red vibrant fruit and wild herbs, with an amazing sweetness to acidity ratio. This red can be enjoyed on it’s own or with lighter meats with acidic sauces or tomato based smoky dishes. Next, we got the “Welschriesling”, which is made up of as the name suggests, welschriesling. Not related to riesling, this wine really showcases the juicy nature of this grape, vivid crisp apple notes with a touch of pepperiness and a real racy aftertaste. Best enjoyed as an aperitif, or with lighter starters and of course, seafood !

Our newest wine: Chaffey Bros Synonymous Shiraz! Deep crimson purple colour with a nose of cedar, spice and plum hinting at the mix of dark fruits and chocolate lurking on the rich structured palate. The wine shows powerful depth of flavour with plush lingering mouthfeel, great with red meat, hearty beef stew or a crumbly aged cheddar 🍷🍫

Bro' 🐋 Pure expression of Trebbiano with great acidity, zesty notes, refreshing yet complex palate.

Il Sangiovese 🐝 A vintage wine, quick and stinging, as refreshing and easygoing as wines used to be.

New beer alert ! By local brewery , we got a Double West Coast IPA, a strong but smashable IPA, with flavours of grapefruit and sweet orange. There’s big piney flavours in too, as it’s brewed with whole juniper berries to compliment the hops. Along with it we got an interesting beer, the Wild Table Beer, which has been aged in barrels since Otherworld Brewery’s first day of brewing, December 2021. A complex type of beer, with definitely some funk into it, with flavours like pineapple and coconut, along with some citrus notes to balance it all out and a tannic finish to it, coming from the wine casks it was kept in. Both perfect for a mid week pick me up !

Guillaume and his Australian wife Kelly are passionate about “terroir”, which refers to all the environmental elements that affect the quality of the grapes and the characteristics of the wine. They create their wines using minimal interference by following the biodynamic agricultural principles to attain complexity, balance and soft, elegant tannins🌟🍇

Tavel ‘La Nymphe’ has loads of fruit on the nose and palate - strawberry, cherries, watermelon, peach and nectarine. This wine is not only pretty, but tastes delightful! Try with summer salades, pasta or freshly cut melon 🍉

Côtes du Rhône ‘Le Rêveur’ has grapefruit, citrus aromas, floral notes, and a nice acidity in the mouth. Marries well with seafood, chicken and fresh cheeses! 🌸
