Thank you everyone who popped in yesterday to celebrate our 100th Anniversary as an Incorporated Business. It was lovely to catch up with you all over a glass of fizz and some cake!

We were also joined by the legendary Tommy Marr (Karen's Dad), former Company Director of TB Watson. He retired in 1998, but still pops in from time to time, as long as there is food & drink on the go!

Did You Know?

Although we predominantly sell Scotch Whisky, we think it isn't necessarily a bad thing to have a diverse range of products for our customers to choose from.

We stock a variety of Whisky from countries scattered all over the globe - Japan, USA, Ireland, Sweden and even England!

On the subject of England, we recently started stocking Filey Bay Whisky from Spirit of Yorkshire Distillery and are planning a Whisky Tasting with them hopefully later in the year.

They were also kind enough to give us some sampling stock for our customers to try before they buy. So pop in and give them a go if you want to expand your Whisky horizons.

Véspero Blanco Agave Spirit

From the popular Dark Art Distillery in Kirkcudbright (Sky Garden & Understory Gin), their Véspero Blanco is Scotland's first 100% agave spirit. It draws inspiration from the craft of tequila distilling. Recognising the historical and craft significance of tequila, which must be distilled in Mexico. Véspero shares similarities in its composition and premium distillation process.

The Midgie has been created in partnership with Smidge to celebrate Scotland's notorious Highland Midge.

This new Ardnamurchan release combines 13 Bourbon barrels, 1 Sherry Butt, 5 Sauternes barriques, and 5 Madeira barriques, featuring a blend of 60% peated and 40% unpeated spirit.

Nose - Brandy snaps, pancake batter, crystallized ginger, nougat, smoked Manuka honey, love hearts, satsuma peel, freshly squeezed orange juice, and extinguished candle.

Palate - Mouth cooling, fresh mint, bread and butter pudding, Edinburgh rock, cooked peaches, salted almonds, cookie dough, and ashy notes.

Finish - Sweet, smoky, and lingering, with a bite.

This whisky is bottled at 48% ABV.

Bus Tickets are still available from Dumfries to Bladnoch Distillery for their 5th and final Waterfall Day on Saturday the 18th of May.

The event itself is free to enjoy from 12pm-7pm, with live music, entertainment and food vans. There are whisky tastings available to book throughout the day and you can also purchase a bottle of the Bladnoch Waterfall release, only available to attendees at the distillery.

The bus from Dumfries will be leaving from Brooms Road Car Park at 9:30am, getting us into Bladnoch at around 11:00-11:30am. The return journey will leave Bladnoch at 7pm, getting us back into Dumfries around 21:00-21:30. Tickets are £10 each, which includes the return journey.

The esteemed Master Distiller, Billy Walker, has handpicked a trio of Pedro Ximénez casks along with a pair of Oloroso casks, all from an impressive collection of ultra-aged stock. Vintage Sherry casks, both puncheons and hogsheads, have synergised to craft a single malt of sublime distinction, brimming with notes of forest fruits, the richness of chocolate fondant, and the natural sweetness of wild Scottish heather honey.

It’s getting closer! No electricity today as the motherboard was being replaced, and tradesmen were tripping over each other. .. but.. the shelves are getting filled and the light can be seen at the end of the tunnel.
