Sadly we’ve been beaten by the weather two weeks in a row! With 30+ MPH gusts and thunderstorms forecast for this afternoon we have decided to cancel Pizza Night this week. Fingers crossed next weeks mini heatwave materialises and we’ll be back serving delicious wood fired pizzas and cracking wines next Wednesday.

After the crushing disappointment of the 4th Ashes Test being washed out we are sorry to bring you more bad news! Pizza Night is cancelled this evening due to an equally depressing forecast. Fingers crossed we’ll be back next week with our friends from for more wood fired fun.

We had a really enjoyable morning filming for a documentary focussing on local wine producer . We have no idea how much of our interview will make the Final Cut but it was a great experience and a pleasure to chat about the fabulous wines produced on our doorstep.

We’ve been enjoying the late August sunshine with the delicious, food friendly and Backyard Porchetta. The crackling crackled (for a change) and the Sauvignon/Semillon was a match made in heaven. Visit our new website or call into the shop to discover more of the fabulous range.

This is wine tasting Napa Valley style! We had a fascinating time at the amazingly tranquil running through the awesome Hoopes Vineyard wines and learning about life in the valley. In addition to making top notch Napa Valley wines, Hoopes also set up a small animal rescue centre after the 2017 wildfires which has taken in goats, pigs, ponies and chickens displaced by the fires. With a soundtrack that included Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Guns n Roses and Jimi Hendrix amongst others (mixed in with the various farm animals), this made for a memorable and unique tasting experience.

2021 Verdeca ‘Alice’, Produttori Di Manduria, Salento 🐟

Perfect for a warm summers evening at home…. or on the beach!

Verdeca is a rare grape variety found predominantly in Puglia, but also a little further north in Campania.

Aromatic on the nose with delicate white flowers and citrus fruits which follow through to the textured palate that manages to show plenty of lively fruit, yet in a restrained and well balanced way. The finish is clean, fresh and mineral tinged.
