The end of an Era. 1946 - 2021. The Taylor family have had the privilege of being in business in Tickhill for 75 years. Our last customer, Richard Russum was given his basket of shopping, Free of charge to mark this momentous occasion. This is now the correct time to pass on the baton to another family.

We are being questioned, by customers, on our plans for mask wearing in our store from Monday 19th July. (next week)
In line with Government guidance for Retail stores, we continue to take the health of our staff and customers very seriously and have no intention of dropping our guard against Covid-19.

We will continue to:
* Operate the traffic light system
* Provide disposable gloves at the entrance,
* Ensure that our shop is very well ventilated
* Encourage separation between staff and customers
* Most importantly request that customers continue to wear a mask in consideration of others who are breathing the same air.

We hope that these actions will be welcomed by you, our valued customers, as we strive to provide a shopping environment, as safe as possible in these challenging times.

Bad news for Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc fans. UK stocks of the 2020 vintage have almost sold out. The next vintage, 2021, will be of excellent quality but much more expensive.
Frosts when the vines were flowering and almost drought conditions in the area have resulted in yields being reduced by 30%.
We have secured stocks of Oyster Bay, Brancott and Villa Maria 2020. All available by the case at special prices. When this stock is gone the replacements will not be available at the promotional prices that we have taken for granted for many years. If you enjoy the clean, fresh taste of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc it would be prudent to buy some to put away and keep your fingers crossed for better conditions in 2022.

New Zealand, the world's second largest producer of Sauvignon Blanc after France, may not be able to meet global demand in 2021 due to “an exceptionally small harvest.”

We are trying to assist The Northgate Community Hub to raise £250 for new windows. A donation of £5000 was made from MADL funds just before Christmas, but more money is required to finish the renovation. When completed the room will be available for the use of anyone within our community. If you wish to donate please ask our cashier to add it to your shopping bill.

We are now on the cusp of the next phase of living and working with the ever present threat of Covid-19. More changes are anticipated in our ways of working as we adapt to the evolving needs of our customers. We require a new member of staff, to work 20 hours each week plus holiday cover.
The position will only be suitable for an applicant who can be completely flexible in their working week and be willing to accept changes as our ways of working adapt to fulfil the needs of the business in these challenging times.
