Have you had a notification that there is a parcel waiting for you at the shop?

Could we politely ask that if you have a parcel to collect that you pick it up at your earliest convenience. We are bursting at the seams with parcels awaiting collection just now and there are a lot which are getting close to their return dates.

We are at capacity already and really don’t want to have to turn away driver deliveries….

Thank you for your help.

With Christmas on its way, many of us do the majority of our purchases online, instead of tramping around umpteen shops in the rain and cold.

As most of our customers know, we are a parcel shop for a number of different carriers and we accept parcels for customer pick up, returns or for sending small packages.

Parcels are an important part of our business and we handle 1000+ every week throughout the year. Our opening hours 7am-8pm Monday to Saturday, 8:30am-7pm on Sundays ensure flexibility and convenience for our customers. We have the facility to print return labels in store too.

The maximum size of parcels we accept either pick-up or drop-off is 60cm along the longest side and no more than 10kg.

Some packages cannot be accepted such as liquids, or other restricted items, details available on request.

The maximum sizes accepted are dictated by Health and Safety needs and available space (remember- we are a smalll shop!), we do have to turn away packages regularly including items such as furniture, white goods, large suitcases and even car exhaust systems! We are not being unhelpful, we simply cannot accommodate things like that.

If you need any help, our staff are always happy to assist.

Parcels:

With Christmas approaching, Black Friday and usual parcel drop offs, we would ask that if you have a parcel to collect, could you pick these up as soon as you can manage. We are currently at capacity and if parcels are uncollected we may not be able to take any more parcel deliveries, which we would like to avoid so as not to inconvenience our customers.

Currently, we have been holding quite a number for a week or more.

Thank you in anticipation for your help!

Can you help?

As part of our ongoing improvements to the shop, we are looking to brighten things up and add some local images above the shelves around the walls.

Do you have any old photos that you would be willing to let us use? We would like any pictures of Carrickstone Farm, before the shop was built, or the local area, even any pictures from when the shop first opened. Really anything very local, showing what the area used to be like.

Ideas and images always welcomed!

Historically, Carrickstone Farm was one of four farms in the area which were developed in housing to create Carrickstone, Westerwood, Craigmarloch and other neighbourhoods as they are today. It is understood that the shop is on the site of an old cowshed before the farms trading was redeveloped into houses, nursery and shop. Only two of the original buildings remain, the farmhouse and stable.

Any help would be gratefully received!

Good News!!

Finally, we now have the ability to print DPD parcel labels in store, from QR codes. This has been an issue for many parcel shops for some time. Happy to have this sorted!

Sunday opening times:

As the days get shorter and hibernation season sets in, we have decided to shorten slightly our Sunday opening hours, to let our staff have a longer lie and get home a bit sooner.

From Sunday 8 December the shop will be open between 8:30am and 7pm. All other days remain unchanged- 7am until 8pm.

Apologies if this causes any inconvenience, but as we are sure you will understand, at this time of year early mornings and late evenings on Sundays are quiet unlike other days.

Thanks

Earlier post about Evri printer removed due to spam comment.

Our label printer was damaged yesterday. We are awaiting a replacement.

Unfortunately we cannot print Evri labels in store until tte new printer arrives. All of our other carriers, Yodel, instore, DPD etc are working as normal.

If you have a label for Evri or can print a label, we can take parcels in as normal.

Very sorry for any inconvenience!

As the days get colder a hot snack for lunch or anytime helps to see you through the day.

We have a range of Rustler burgers and microwaveable frozen snacks available for eating on the go. Hot snacks ready in 2 minutes or less!

There is a microwave available for customers to use, beside the coffee machine and our staff are always happy to help.

Update:

We have taken the decision to remove the ATM from the shop as part of our upcoming upgrades, which will include redesign of the counter area. The ATM has been taken out of operation with immediate effect.

The good news- for customers shopping in store, we will be able to offer the facility to withdraw cash using their debit card, to a maximum of £50, at the counter, subject to available cash in the till. The Counter Cash service will be starting during the second week in November. This service is free to use for customers.

Any Paypoint transactions eg gas, electricity, will have to be paid in cash, the facility to use Counter Cash will be available for this. Presently, the charges we pay for taking card payments mean that it costs us every time a card payment is accepted for Paypoint transactions.

It is anticipated that these changes will help us to improve the services that we offer our customers.

If you have any queries please feel free to send a message or speak to Kingsley/Paul.

FRIDAY 11 OCTOBER

Contractors will be working for essential works to repair a burst water main on the section of private road in front of the shop on Friday morning.

The car park for the shop will be closed off while the contractors are working as the road will have to be opened up. It is anticipated that the works will not take more than a few hours before the road can be re-opened.

We would apologise in advance for any inconvenience and ask that customers park on the street but please try not to block access for our neighbours or the nursery.

Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.
