Noble Grape Wine Merchant is delighted to have our first-ever allocation of Daftmill, one of the hardest-to-come-by distilleries in Scotland.

Daftmill is run by the Cuthbert brothers on their barley farm in Fife.

This is from one of 27 barrels of whisky distilled in December 2011 and bottled in 2024.

7,500 bottles produced. Aged in first fill ex-Bourbon barrels.

Some exciting news.

You are invited to come and taste the debut wine from Cowbridge's own St Hilary Vineyard this Saturday.

St Hilary Vineyard 2023 Rosé is a blend of Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, made from grapes grown by Liz and Peter Loch in their small but perfectly formed vineyard.

Liz & Peter will be at Noble Grape this Saturday between 11 am and 1pm to show you their wine and tell you all about it.

No need to RSVP; just turn up. The wine will be on sale on the day.

I discovered this red from North Macedonia at a blind tasting a few years ago. Out of 200 or so wines that I tasted, this was, pretty much, the only one that made a lasting impression. It has been a fixture at Noble Grape Wine Merchant ever since.

This is made from a grape variety called Kratosija, the local name for Primitivo. It’s dark, deep, ripe, and spicy. Perfect suited to those who love Primitivo or Zinfandel.

The wine is remarkably good value.

This is a drop of pure gold. A 2014 Chardonnay from Idaho. Made by the Vickers Family from Snake River Valley - volcanic vineyards of basalt. Is it Burgundy? No. Is it California? No. It’s something else, out on its own.

I think I first tasted Vickers about 15 years ago and always meant to revisit. Now I have, I am smitten. If you love rich, golden Chardonnays, like me, you’ll love it too.

This wine is a ridiculously well-priced for what it is, and, we only have a few bottles.

It will be live on the website tomorrow and in store.

Being primarily a wine merchant and an Italian wine specialist, we became incredibly excited to learn that Penderyn had acquired some casks from Speri, a top Amarone producer. Years of patience have come to fruition today, as the whisky has now arrived, and we are thrilled to introduce it to you.

There are only 60 bottles of this treasure, and it is exclusive to Noble Grape.

The whisky was distilled in 2018, spending the first three years in ex-Bourbon casks and then three years in fabulous ex-Amarone casks. It was bottled at cask strength of 60.9%, with no chill-filtration or added colour.
