As many of you may know Russ retired in April and sold Red Fox Brewery Coggeshall to Glenn Ackerman (Witham Brewery) and Paul Mellor (Harwich Town Brewery) creating Wharf Brewery Ltd They continue to brew the favourite brews from Red Fox, Witham, Harwich and Maldon Brewing Company (Farmer's Ales) here in Coggeshall. Dear customer,

This is just a short communique to let you know what is happening at Red Fox in the very near future.

Unfortunately, due to ill-health, Russ is stepping back from the business. He has sold the business to the owners of the two breweries who have been cuckoo-brewing with him for some years now, Paul Mellor of Harwich Town Brewing Co and Glenn Ackerman of Witham Brewery.

The combined brewery will be known as WHARF Brewery Ltd.

Please rest assured that the brewery is being left in very capable hands; Paul started Harwich Town in 2007 and has several awards under his belt and a great deal of brewing experience. Glenn started Witham Brewery back in 2012 and has 40 years of experience in the on-trade. Together with Fez the brewer, they have over 40 years of brewing know-how between them.

The brewery team of Fiona, Moose and Fez will remain, so expect exactly the same service and beer quality as you have grown to expect.

From April, all of the beers produced under the new banner will be vegan, we have put out several batches using vegan-friendly finings and are more than happy with the results.

Shortly after the sale is completed, Paul and Glenn will be embarking on a tour to get to know all of you. They very much look forward to meeting you.

We can nearly hear those sleigh bells ringing and the snow is glistening so it's coming up to your last order date for a Red Fox Brewery Coggeshall Christmas. Cut off is 11.59PM MONDAY 19TH DECEMBER 2022 for deliveries on Thursday.

Please note there will be no deliveries between FRIDAY 23RD DECEMBER AND MONDAY 2ND JANUARY 2023. Any orders placed between those dates will be fulfilled from TUESDAY 3RD JANUARY.

READY NOW - How about celebrating the Queen's Platinum Jubilee with this delicious aromatic amber ale? We obviously had to have a tasting session and were blown away by the intense grapefruit aroma followed by the lovely soft fruity finish.
