🍺 New Release! 🍺 has been a long time in the making, with the ultimate focus being on creating beers of the highest quality. The team includes Will France, one of the first brewers at Cloudwater, and brewing legend Colin Stronge, of Salt, Northern Monk & Buxton. Standing tall at 500ml and very well priced given the pedigree and generous use of hops in these inaugural releases 🍻 Taking orders now!

Instantly recognisable from our favourite wine destination our first holiday together there included a visit to Hugel's HQ. If you're a food and wine fan and you've not already been to Alsace just do it. The wine is great value if you like rich whites and the food is incredible too with the highest concentration of Michelin star restaurants in France 🇫🇷 🍴🍷🥂

Marvellous to have Big Stone Beer back in the shop after the brewery took a break for personal reasons last year. One of our closest breweries who started the same crazy year as ourselves (2020!) so we've been on the same small business rollercaster for a while now. To showcase our B2B services I'm starting some features on our brilliant trade customers. We offer comprehensive wine merchant services to taprooms bars and pubs and we trade back and forth with many of our local breweries which is all great for the local economy.
We've been AWRS registered since 2020 when our first customer was Wincle Beer Company Ltd owner Giles Meadows. We've been friends since 2013 when I used to manage a regional wine merchant branch in Macclesfield so I've been selling wine to Giles and buying his beer for more than 10 years now and it's great to be doing it for my own business today.
Wincle is located close to Three Shires Head, bordering Cheshire, Staffordshire and the Derbyshire Peak District. An idyllic rural location on the banks of the river Dane you may have seen on TV recently when the BBC dropped in on Wincle's annual music festival to interview Giles about the business implications of the general election result for small breweries.
We proudly supply the festival and their taproom year round with great quality wines and plenty of prosecco to supplement the huge range of traditional ales Wincle are famous for all over the Peak District and beyond.

A real treat here for Viognier lovers and wine geeks in general. Grown on volcanic soils 40km SW of Rome this white blend (58% Viognier) shows all the mineral complexity of Etna and Vesuvius but with a crisp energetic and more northerly Italian texture and flavour profile. Sampled 2 weeks ago with the producer very highly recommended!

Hello all sorry but we will be CLOSED this Saturday 29 June for a family do just couldn't find the cover this time. Apologies for any inconvenience it's been 15 months and we've barely missed a beat in Castleton so hopefully an excusable exception.
I'm in all day Friday 11-7 and Alec is in Sunday 11-5. Over the summer you'll be seeing more of Katy too. She's put herself forward for more hours plus we have 1 or 2 other new faces lined up to help us through this busy time of year meaning more days off for me hopefully!
Next week is the first of the month and subscription time for many of you, as ever thank you all for the continued support. It's a convenient and very effective way to support us and all our independent/local suppliers with a real benefit to you too - i.e. great booze from excellent independent companies.

Excited for the new Buxton Brewery Company releases? You probably appreciate a good beer/wine crossover then. This Gueuzerie Tilquin with fermented Pinot Meunier grapes is an absolute stunner. A sappy sour 80% meerts 20% 2yr lambic with tangy purple grape fruit awesome stuff 🍷🍻
