So, we’ve been pretty silent since the start of the year & I know it’s had a few of you worried, there’s a lot of bad news in the trade at the moment & it’s understandable people thought the worst but honestly we’ve just been quite busy. We’ve started the year with a fresh attitude & a lot of new faces through the doors, we’ve not had much time January blues. Instead we’ve thrown open our diary & started planning our best year ever for special moments & even more incredible events than ever.
Last year was phenomenal, from Christmas markets to cheese & wine festivals it was the big things that made the year feel extra special & we’ve no intention of slowing down now. We’re going bigger, adding more, pushing out the boat with a full calendar of outstanding events all year long with some old favourites & some really special new additions.
Yeah there’s going to be much more info to come but there’s some big days to get in your diary already & we wanted to give you plenty of notice because there’s an awful lot to process.
Big big news for our sweet toothed friends because this is the year we revive the chocolate festival with some huge surprises in store. Really excited to be doing something different as our first big event of the year & what better way to kick things off than with every chocoholic’s wish come true. Lots of news to come about this but safe to say we’re starting the season with a bang.
Katie Richardson is bringing some much needed mindfulness to our summer with an outdoor Yoga brunch that’s every bit as cool as it sounds, more details to come on this one, booking isn’t open just yet but it’s going to sell out, it’s going to be zen AF & it’s potentially not the only one of the year. Then because we’re all about balance we’re tee’ing up a street food BBQ all of our own with some help from a few of our friends in the trade, we’re talking Tom & Ella cooking up a storm, food trucks & live music. Nothing not to love about this one.
Now we know so many of you have loved our big seafood platters over the years but this time we’re doing something different, something bigger, something, frankly ridiculous. Last year we gave you Rochdale’s first Cheese & Wine Festival but this year along with the legends that are Fishop and the fantastic Kwoff we bring you Greater Manchester’s (we think) only Seafood & Champagne Festival. Yeeeees it was always going to happen, we’re finally bringing the finer things to Whitworth Road. We’re talking a one off, once a year, not to be missed, mic drop moment of oysters, bubbles on ice & bossa nova bands. Seriously, we want you to get dressed up to come drink champagne in a carpark while we kick out some of the best seafood around while looking absolutely fabulous, darlings. And you know what, we know you will. It’s the Catalina wine mixer.
You’re going to be sick of hearing about the Springhill Hospice walk by summer time but we wanted give you all as much notice to get it pencilled in as possible because as fun as all the other events are, this is the big one. The one that means something. So if you come to one thing we do this year, make it this.
Now you all loved the cheese & wine bonanza so much that this year we’re doing it twice this summer, you heard me, 2cheese2wine. No big surprises, it’s not broken, we aren’t changing a thing. Just 300 people coming for a wine. Nothing unusual there.
And who doesn’t want to see a Team McNeeney take on a pumpkin patch at our first ever Harvest Festival? Shut, up. A cosy, autumnal market full of spooky stalls, pumpkin painting & mulled cider, we’re taking everything you love about our famous Xmas markets & going off the deep end for October, it’s a Gilmore girl’s instagram dream & we’re bringing it right to your doorstep.
And we’re not even talking about Christmas, because, no. Anyway there’s the dates for the markets. Go mad.
Now we’re ready for the whole world to message us with enquires about stalls, about bookings, about what hat to wear to the champagne festival so just bear with us while we get back to you. If you, your business or your band want to be involved please reach out, we are better when we work together.
A very, very organised,
Team McNeeney
