Happy new year from Spencer’s Tobacconist! What a year it has been…however we’ve settled in nicely to our new location at 30 Princess Parade. Thank you to the lovely people of Bury and beyond for supporting our small business - we appreciate you all🥰

Our opening hours this week:
• Tuesday 31st December: 9am-1pm
• Wednesday 1st January: closed
• Thursday 2nd January: 9am-5pm
• Friday 3rd January: 9am-5pm
• Saturday 4th January: 9am-5pm
• Sunday 5th January: closed

📣Exciting news - we are moving to ‘News Rack’!📣

We’re thrilled to announce that Spencer’s Tobacconist (of Bury Indoor Market) is officially moving to a new premises!🤩

From Monday 8th April, you’ll find us at the former “News rack” shop:

30 Princess Parade,
Bury,
BL9 0QL

Please bear with us as we find our feet in this new space!🫶🏽

As you may have heard, Bury Indoor Market has been closed since October 2023 due to structural concerns with the market hall building, meaning traders such as ourselves have had to adapt without our beloved indoor market to trade from.

From December until today, we’ve been temporarily trading just a few doors down at the former “Sue Ryder” shop at 6-10 Princess Parade, with a few other lovely market traders - who we are going to dearly miss when we officially move on Monday! So we won’t be too far from where you’ve found us recently.

Thank you for all the support and kindness that you’ve shown us consistently. We appreciate all of our customers🥰

We’d be grateful if you’d spread the word with your friends and family (especially with those who don’t have social media!) about our big move to News Rack. We hope to see you there soon❤️

As 2023 draws to a close, we’d like to take this opportunity to say a massive thank you to the wonderful folk of Bury and beyond for supporting our business through a challenging year!

In October 2023, Bury Market Hall was temporarily shut down due to infrastructure concerns, meaning traders such as ourselves had to also close until a solution was found. However we’re now back trading at a temporary new spot (6-10 Princess Parade, Bury, BL9 0QL) with 4 other fellow market traders.

The amount of support, warmth and true kindness we have received from not just customers but friends has been heartwarming.❤️

We’re excited for 2024 when we hope the market hall will re-open! We’ll post any new location updates on here.

✨WE ARE OPEN!✨

Spencer’s Tobacconist has some exciting news to share with you…

We’re temporarily trading from 6-10 Princess Parade, Bury, BL9 0QL (the former Sue Ryder shop). You’ll find us with some familiar faces from the market hall including: Days To remember, Bennett’s Gifts and Mobile Corner🤩

Whilst the authorities undertake the relevant checks on 30 Princess Parade (the former Newsrack site where we will eventually be moving to!), we’ll be at this site at 6-10 Princess Parade spreading some festive cheer🎄✨

Please note: we are cash only for now.

📣 New location incoming!📣

Hi everyone, after a quiet few weeks, we have some news to share with you!🥳

We’ve been working with Bury Council on relocating Spencer’s Tobacconist, since the Indoor Market has been temporarily closed.

We have been offered the former “News Rack” site on 30 Princess Parade.

We are yet to exchange keys for the premises, but hoping this shouldn’t be too long until we’re back trading again.♥️

We appreciate your patience and understanding during these challenging times, and can’t wait to see you in our new home for Spencer’s Tobacconist as soon as we can.

We’ll post a further update on this page once we have a confirmed opening date at our new site.

Conscious that not everyone has Facebook, so please let your friends and relatives know too - we’d appreciate it!🥰
