This is so true!

You have probably seen lots of small business complain about card payments and the costs attached.

On Friday taking card payment cost us just over £40 if I average that over just the 3 days of Friday, Saturday and Sunday would be £6240 per year -that’s not counting Monday to Thursday.

In a world where we are literally counting the pennies it is hard and while we will always accept cards I know the fees hit us hard.

We are lucky that our bank doesn’t charge us to put money in but cash always means we can pay out fruit and veg cash, our window cleaner, fishmonger, butcher and so on.

It’s not about tax avoidance the till systems we use link directly into zero and that’s reported
to HMRC it’s simply another cost that an industry already floored with rising costs just can’t take.

Also please don’t message me and telling me I’m paying to much- every deal has it’s ups and downs (transfer times, set fees etc) and we feel we have the best of a bad bunch and are tied into a deal.
