The man in this photograph is Lionel Edmund Riddiford who bought our shop having done his grocery apprenticeship and worked at the business for the two previous owners. He was married to Hilda (stood to his right) and father to Doreen (onL.E. Riddifordis left in the photo), Frances and Barclay.

That is where the L.E. Comes from in L.E. Riddiford.

Lionel passed away 60 years ago today.
RIP Lionel.
