As from 17th July you can bring your Amazon returns to the shop. No need to wrap up the order or print a label. Just bring it along with your QR code and we will do it all for you. Make your life easy.

Just to let everyone know, the shop is open even although access from the north is closed. There is a sign saying road closed coming from Crawford at the Leadhills junction, but you can get through to the shop. Appreciate any shares. Thanks

Could customers please note that from Monday for the rest of April, due to staffing issues, the Post Office side of the shop will open at 9.30.

The shop hours will remain as normal.

Looking for some help. For a few weeks now I have been told that on using a bank card at the shop, the resulting transaction is showing up as ‘Abington Hotel’ on customer’s statements.

This is not a problem, the payment is coming to our bank. However it does cause confusion and concern to customers.

I’ve been in touch with the card machine company and they can find no problem. Interestingly, it has only happened to RBS customers as far as I can see. I’ve therefore contacted RBS and explained the problem. They are either useless, or my ability to explain the problem is poor, as they tell me they have no problem on ‘my statements’. Before I go back on and start shouting that it’s ‘customer statements’ which is the problem , I was hoping that if you have noticed this problem you could PM us and tell us which bank you are with. If anyone is having the problem and they are not with RBS then it is obviously not their issue.

Part for car found lying outside Abington shop. Anyone’s?

Did you know that you can have your parcels from certain delivery companies re-routed to your local Post Office, to be picked up at your convenience?

The post office currently have contracts with DPD and Amazon, with more companies in the pipeline. You may even save the Amazon delivery charge if you don’t have Amazon Prime.

So no more parcels left on doorsteps, or in not very safe ‘safe-places’. This is especially convenient when the weather is as bad as it is at the moment, and the drivers are under extra pressure due to strikes and Christmas.

Don’t know if true or not, but a customer told me he is not on Amazon Prime, but got free delivery to the shop. If true, we’ll worth considering and saving some cash.

Then why not have your parcel delivered to the Abington Post Office, to be picked up when convenient to yourself?

Open 8am till 7pm Monday to Saturday, and 9am till 1pm on Sunday.
