This Friday we celebrate !

The Champagne vineyard dates back to Roman times when Romans planted vineyards in
this region of northeast France in the 5th century. Here grows no less than 7 varieties of grapes: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Meunier are the most commonly used, but there are four more, less well known, grape varieties used in your favourite sparkling wine: Arbane, Petit Meslier, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Gris.

In the 90s, Tony was discovering the gorgeously rich reds of southern Italy, where he met Angelo Maci. Angelo had set up a winery to support grape growers in his little corner of Puglia and Tony was blown away by his wines. 🍇

He was particularly impressed by a deep and soulful wine, Pillastro, which delighted our customers and has been receiving top marks and rave reviews ever since. 🌟

The 80s brought with it many fads and trends, but one new wine style topped the charts and is still well loved today!

While Top Gun’s pilots were thrilling us on screen, Tony was winging his way to New Zealand. There, he was blown away by the quality of Ernie and Jane Hunter’s Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. ✈️

Tony recalls, “I’d never tasted anything so explosively aromatic, fresh and fruity – a Eureka moment”. We debuted the Hunter’s Sauvignon Blanc at the London Vintage Festival in 1986 and it’s been a big hit ever since.

Finally, it's here!👏🍾
Alex James, Blur bassist, cheese maker and Big Feastival host has launched his first sparkling wine under the Britpop brand.

It's a classic blend of Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay, made by the award-winning Furleigh Estate, close to where Alex grew up on Dorset’s Jurassic coast. Alex said “It makes a great aperitif or celebration wine, paired with seafood, charcuterie and particularly cheese: serve chilled or over ice when it’s really sunny.”🎸
