We've been involved in countless hours of consultation about the new road layout, and we are pleased that our request for a trial period was accepted. Should the scheme prove unpopular or unsafe within the first 6 months we can request to have it reversed.

It is important for motorists to be aware of the changes to the highway code that came into effect in Feb 2022. The priority right of way is currently with pedestrians, not motorists. The placement of the 2 new zebra crossings only increase the safety for pedestrians at this crossing point. There always was textured tiles and dropped curbes in these locations. The new zebra crossing only makes crossing here safer for everyone.
