✨New award winning Portuguese Reds just in time for the weekend. ✨

The Herdade do Peso winery owns 160 hectares of vineyard in the southern part of Alentejo, making great value for money fruit expressive wines that reflect the warmer climate of the region.

The Sossego Alentejo wine is a blend of Aragones, Shiraz and Touriga Nacional producing a bright ruby red in colour wine with notes of strawberry, red cherry and spicy complexity of oak on the nose. Elegant tannins are coupled with balanced acidity to produce a vibrant wine with a long enjoyable finish.

Herdade do Peso Trinca Bolotas Red - Intense ruby colour. This wine has an aroma of vibrant red fruit with floral notes, courtesy of the Touriga Nacional grape variety. On the palate, it is incredibly balanced with very smooth tannins and a refreshing acidity. An extremely gastronomic friendly wine with a long & delight finish.

EL Coto Blanco - expect Freshness, finesse and elegance. The blend of Viura, Verdejo and Sauvignon Blanc combined with the quality of the Rioja Alta grapes all combine to produce this stunning Spanish white.

EL Coto Verdejo - This wine is pale lemon in colour with golden highlights. It has intense aromas of fresh citrus and tropical fruit alongside fennel and aniseed notes. On the palate, it is smooth with a lively acidity and a refreshing, elegant finish.

New vintage’s, Fresh and ready to go for the bank holiday weekend.

🍷Tinpot Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2024 vintage from New Zealand is a blend of fruit from Blind River, which contributes mineral and crushed herb characters, and the Lower Wairau, which imparts lovely tropical flavours.

🍷Holdaway Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2024, made by the Holdaway family who have been producing Sauvignon Blanc classics with notes of Nettles, bell pepper and grapefruit that all vie for attention to create a beautifully aromatic and classically styled Sauvignon Blanc. It is vibrant, pure and detailed and impresses for its concentration and purity.

🍷Framingham’s interpretation of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc puts an exciting spin on this classic style. They ferment a small percentage of the grapes on skins and another in oak and acacia barrels. Once fermentation is complete, these components are blended, and the final wine is aged for six months on its lees to achieve extra layers of flavour and texture.

Here @maxsichel explains how a wine without added sulphur, is crafted using the methods of yesteryear, yet resolutely contemporary, authentic and based on environmentally friendly methods. To create this wine without the addition of sulphur, the wine making team at Maison Sichel selected perfectly ripened grapes in impeccable condition from the best-quality parcels. Making wines without added sulfites calls for very special precautions and huge technical skill to ensure that the wines will keep and to prevent any risk of microbiological contamination.
