💕 Love is in the air here at B&B and we are proud to be taking part in Gŵyl Cariad Aber an arts festival celebrating love, community and creativity! Starting on St. Dwynwen’s Day and finishing on Valentine's Day (25th Jan - 14th Feb) there will be installations and events all over Aberystwyth so go follow them or visit gwylcariadaber.com to find ours what's on and where! 💕

🐈 It's no secret we love cats here so we are over the moon to have an installation from , showcasing her amazing feline themed art! We've also got a Cat Art Competition running during the festival as well where you can draw or colour in a cat picture and maybe win some fabulous prizes! Open to all ages and abilities - just channel your inner cat and see what you can come up with 😻

👋 Paddy here - can't believe it's almost February and we've only just poured the first beer of 2025 here at B&B 🥲. So happy to be open again, feels like it's been longer than 3 weeks!

⭐ Thanks for all the support and love everyone's shown, it means the world to us. It's been great seeing you all down at Bank Vault but very happy to be back up here and looking forward to serving you all some beers!

👷🏻‍♂️ All the work was done by Steve from and can't recommend him enough! Worked his socks off to get us open and we are very grateful!

🏦 A big thank you to Jack and the team for putting up with us lost little bar people up there! Thanks again to everyone that came up and visited us in the afternoons ❤️

🦜🦜 Polly's 7th Birthday Tap Takeover 🦜🦜

⭐ Apologies for the short notice but didn't want to get anyone's hopes up in case we weren't open in time! B&B is almost ready and we'll be celebrating 7th Birthday with seven cracking beers pouring on the taps! Each one is a collab with another fantastic brewery - with a range of IPA styles, a sour and a stout there will be something for everyone to enjoy! ⭐

Pipes are fixed, concrete in and we'll be opening this Thursday at 5pm.

Thanks to for working all weekend to get us to this point and to my landlords the Morgans for being so supportive and helpful.

All very exciting and on Friday we'll be having a Pollys tap take over!

Bella would like to give you an update on the Bottle and Barrel.

The landlords insurance has been approved for the work to take place, we have a contractor in place, so the will start any day now. Hopefully open mid to end of next week! 🐶

Thank you all for your kind comments and for making the trek up to the Bank Vault. We've really enjoyed seeing you guys up there and the bv will remain being open at 12 every day until the bb has reopened.

Thank you all so much for your kind words yesterday, I was feeling down last night and reading the comments really cheered me up! 😀

It looks like we will be closed for at least a week at the Bottle and Barrel. The sewer that is under the rear bar area needs to be dug out due to 2 collapsed areas. Its about 4 - 5ft deep so quite a job!

In meantime we will be opening the Bank Vault Aberystwyth from 12am everyday, so please go and say hello to some very lost and confused Bottle and Barrel staff.

Thanks again for all your support and I'll see you at the Bank Vault!

Hello,

As I'm sure the regulars know we have had big problems with the drains at the Bottle and Barrel for the last year.

Sadly the sewer pipe under the Bottle and Barrel has collapsed and needs replacing.

This means probably digging up the pub, so generally I'm not sure when we will be back open.

I'll give you guys an update once I know a time line.

⭐ To avoid confusion I've renamed the B&B Quiz to the Bank Vault Quiz to reflect the fact that it is held at Bank Vault 👀. I experimented with portmanteaus but Bankle & Varrel Quiz sounded weird ⭐

❓Come join us for an evening of head-scratching questions and obtuse round structures. Last months winners were called "Watch Me While I Quiz" which gives me nothing to work with so expect a surprise Paddy bonus round based on something I dream up❓
