So one of our customers told me about "Aberdour Piper" whisky & I had to have it for the shop.

I think I can quite safely say it was not distilled in Aberdour. It may in fact have absolutely nothing to do with oor wee village (I have emailed the distillers to ask more about the name). BUT it would still be a pretty cool gift to take to a local Burns Night celebration!

We have 5 bottles and they are only £18.99 each. Definitely worth a try for the name and label alone.

We have a lot of customers participating in "Dry January" & many more who are trying to reduce what they are drinking.

One of the alcohol-free beers we've stocked for some time is Jump Ship Brewing's alcohol-free 'Yardarm Lager'. In my opinion, it is a bit special & really does not taste like you are drinking alcohol free beer. Impressively, in 2021, Yardarm Lager won best 'no and low' alcohol lager in the World Beer Awards 2021!

We are very excited to have one of the Jumpship Team, Siobhan, coming to The Purple Shop this Saturday, the 13th of January, from 1-5pm to run a free tasting.

No need to book, just turn up!

There is a simple joy in getting back into a normal routine after Xmas. Today my joy was off the scale at seeing Ryan our "egg man".

We always get our eggs on a Tuesday and the way Xmas and New Year fell this year we have had 2 weeks without eggs.

If I had a penny for the number of times people have asked me "Do you have any eggs?" I would be very rich 😂🥚🐔

Feel free to pop in anytime and ask me "Do you have any eggs?"

When the Persie Distillery spaniel gin miniatures that we needed for our dog hamper collaboration with Sand & Paws missed the cut off for our usual Huffmans delivery, the lovely team at Huffmans gave us a call when they arrived & I decided to go and collect.

When we promise our customers - most of whom we know personally - something for Xmas we will always go the extra mile to deliver.
