Un bon gros week end … trop ? Possible oui 😎😂

What an intense week end of tasting and events … well maybe too much at once 😱😎😂😇😏… recovery was long 🤣😛😜

Fantastic line up of iconic Baroli !!! Insightful to have them all at once and being able to compare styles, place, vinification etc … regarding that maybe the Monfortino was the epitome of all the styles with both elegance, length and power … top 3 Monfortino, Monvigliero, Bartolo/ Monprivato… but a close end … all wines of amazing quality… bit of VA on Tre Tine sadly …

Next day… fantastic whites with erste Lage from and its really easy drinking style at 11 abv … vat 47 with buttery and ripe aromas elegantly supported by zingy acidity !! Savage red full of pepper and dark berry, blueberry muffin 😍… top 2018 Marcarini Commune ! Again that vintage is underrated ! Great 16 from Yannick Feraud, hint of evolution but still huge dark fruit and ripe aromas plus garrigue etc …

Some highlights in a funky week-end ! Ski and tasty evenings !!! Allez Val d Aoste

Long Time since I had the San Giuseppe wines … since my visit, gone sky rocketing prices 🥹🥺… still that 12 had fruit left, great silky tannins and a savage nose, a bit edgy… Brett are more palpable on that one giving a drying finish sadly when the wine is still pretty !!! Every loved it though… just my technical take …

Sadly telegraph was on the descending slope … with opening some ripe fruit shows in but the wind is overall not at its peak …

Timo Mayer pinot is at its best … just falls a bit short, we d expect a tiny bit more acid to hold that subtle refined wine and last longer on the palate. The sweet feel is amazing with soft tannins and fantastic red berry fruits … 🍇 raspberry, cranberry juice …

Very good St Joseph from unknown Negociant to me … spices and dark fruits, quite soothy and typical …

Nice tastings at .cretes but unfortunately no pics here … great Nebbiolo and Pinot, probably best Italian Chardonnay too with the Anselmet

Lo Triolet is a long time wished visit … all the wines are of interest and on spot… pinot with some whole bunch… giving crunchiness ! Torette is balanced and great food wine ! Beautiful arvine !

Bon pour résumer 😎😜… VT fatigue un peu … Mayer très joli, fruit, manque juste un poil de nervosité pour allonger ce vin quasi parfait dans son style et sa forme ! St jo inconnu au bataillon mais bien typé et très bien fait … pas de bois ni de surmaturite malgré un bon 14 d alcool !

Le Stella serait stellaire sans une bonne dose de Brett qui animalise et assèche un poil cette bombe de fruit et d élégance ! Conclusion … vive le SO2 en petites quantités ou la futaille propre 🤷‍♂️…

a l epoque vous le souteniez … quotidien le spécialiste des demonstrations de retournement de veste et des contradictions ! Nous voila pris la main dans le sac. Je comprends votre discours moral sur l alcool et la banalisation. Mais il faut reconnaître que le vin surtout en France est un produit a part. Mais ne vous en faites pas, les changements de civilisation vont avoir raison du vin. 27 000 ha en moins grace aux arrachages … il ne restera que les grands cru que personne ne pourra plus se payer dans les classes populaires et moyennes… Les amateurs sont de plus en plus floues. Et les grands producteurs de bière et tous les autres alcools eux, grâce à des procédés peu coûteux vont pouvoir continuer à prospérer ! Avec des produits sans âme, sans qualité, sans terroir et sans main-d’œuvre !!! Heureusement les vignerons se réinventeront … peut etre ! Mais l’aloe vera ou l’olivier, ça fait travailler, beaucoup moins de monde quand même … j’espère qu’on aura quand même une France Agricole avec des petites et moyennes exploitations capable de survivre et de proposer de vrais bons produits dans chaque région. L alcool fait des ravages ! Mais le vin peut faire des grands souvenirs et des émotions dignes d un opéra ou d un record du monde d athlétisme …

Few wines drank lately …

Quelques bouteilles récemment bues.

Un assemblage intéressant avec 70 % de Cabernet franc dans le Pessac Leognan du château Bardins . Pas trop végétal et surtout en direction de la truffe et du champignons. Le Vin commence juste son évolution.. donne-lui encore cinq ou six ans. This one you have to try

La meilleure bouteille cette série reste le reserva de Remirez de Ganuza et son style plutôt moderne. Mais qui avec le temps ça affine fortement et prends des notes graphites et minérales.

Les Duband très élégant et très fin montre la qualité sur le temps de la vendange entière.

Malheureusement le Rully etait bouchonné ! Vive le .cork n este ce pas !

Some really nice wine there , the aged rioja stood out but most wines were at least very good and some quite impressive ! The still a bit young is a landmark of its unique deep and “dark” style. But with integration and elegance through time ! One of the best St Chinian and a true Languedoc flagship

I absolutely need to go to the winery now that the owners have changed .

Bientôt retour sur une très grosse dégustation faite, il y a 15 jours. Le temps me manque, mais il faut s’y mettre !

Time flies… almost a month ago … and the vintage just started, I believe now is time for Auslese 🤷‍♂️

Le temps passe si vite, c’est il y a presque un mois dans les vignobles mosellan où les vendanges commençaient à peine. Aujourd’hui ils doivent ramasser les raisins flétries ou botrytises pour les vins plus sucres, spatlese, auslese, beerenauslese… TBA 😵🤷

A region that is quite unique due to its ability to produce some of the most balanced sweet wine in the world, mostly thanks to being up north in Europe. The level of acidity matches perfectly the high level of sugar that the berries can reach ! So with 100 g for example and 10 g of acidity, you feel like you have a 20 g of RS in any other regions in the world !

Une des grandes particularités de la Moselle et de réussir des vins sucrés à l’équilibre et élégance rarement atteint ailleurs. Le haut niveau d’acidité obtenu grâce à la situation très septentrional, équilibre, parfaitement des niveaux de sucre important. En gros, si vous avez 100 g de sucre résiduel et une acidité de 10 g. Alors vous avez l’impression qu’il y en a quatre fois moins.

Courte explication sur le cru monopole de ce village de et du hameau Eiteselbach, le cru en monopole s etend de l est a l ouest en une courbe de niveau vers l Ouest ! Il y a donc plusieurs zones et moment de ramassage du riesling ! Grâce à ça la partie plus à l’est est plus fraîche, donne de grands vin, secs et minéraux alors que la partie Ouest est propice à la réalisation de jolis vins sucres, kabinett, spatlese, etc …

A quick description of the site/cru which is a monopole and GG ! Basically stretching from east to West on a curve making an S shape and starting in an amphitheatre ! This allows several picking time and levels of maturity ! The eastern part gives fantastic dry whites when the southern and western parts will be picked later for the sweet ones !

Again, great opportunity to taste all the diversity in such a tiny area
