Contrary to the popular myth – it’s not sacrilegious to chill red wine.

In fact, in the summer it’s even preferable.

The trick to chilling red wine is choosing the correct style or grape.

You want lighter unoaked reds that have lots of lovely fruit, low tannins, lower alcohol and good acidity.

This way, chilling the wine will make it refreshing in the same way as white wine or rosé.

Choose Beaujolais, lighter Pinot Noir, Pais from Chile, Loire Valley Cabernet Franc or Dolcetto.

We recommend just popping your wine in the fridge for half an hour before you intend to drink.
