The River Tarun at the bottom of our field and garden is absolutely full to the brim. Local fishermen wander the banks searching for the much loved Trout.
The Green woodpecker is shouting to everybody and the cuckoo is in full song each morning .
The wood pigeons are looking for a nesting place and the small finches and t**s are hungrily feasting on the fat balls and sunflower seeds . I think the birds are becoming obese on the good food at Kerabellec .
Farmers are busily ploughing and the fields are turing yellow with the r**e plant .
Such a lovely time of the year in Brittany with the daffodils , tulips , hydrangeas, and plants all searching for the spring sunshine .
Time to start cutting the grass and preparing for the season ahead .
It is great to have the Morley family and their friends here for the 5th year in a row. Absolutely fantastic , to see them enjoying the river and woodland walks and also heading off to the coast to enjoy the sea and beaches .
It is such a beautiful coastline here over on the west in the Morbihan Region.
A must is the moule and frites.

The weather has been absolutely fantastic over here in Brittany.Guests at our gites have had a truly relaxing time by the pool with children playing close by in the play area. Visits to the beaches of Carnac, Guidel Quiberon, Trinite Sur Mer and St Philbert , Kayaking down the Blavet only ten minutes from here , visits to the Breton Horse Stud Farm at Hennebont and seeing all 4 planets in alignment in the sky over Kerabellec have been an amazing holiday for everybody. Some guests have chosen to walk the public walks following the forest paths for the cool and shade . The Heron sits in the field watching the river , whilst the buzzards fly overhead and the Green woodpecker calls quite distinctively. Twilight brings out the deer from the woods for a drink by the River Tarun and the bats fly around the complex busily hunting . We have another visitor to our gites now , a huge fat toad who comes and sits by the back door and drinks from the water bowl outside .

The weather has been absolutely beautiful here since Easter with just a few days of drizzle . The heron sits in our fields watching the day go by. The cows sit together in the shade of the trees . The River Tarun is very low on water and the Trout only emerge late evening once the heat of the day has past. It has been a wonderful summer here again with fantastic guests . Guidel coastline has been fantastic for the surfers and visitors have enjoyed exploring Vannes, Auray, Pont Aven, plus many other beautiful towns and the Moules and frites seem to have been a popular choice . it appears that the weather is going to stay sunny and hot through September .We have a special promotion from Brittany Ferry running through September and October , so if you are interested in booking up for next year then check our our Holiday France Direct Advert reference BM005177 Kerabellec with 4 gites all different sizes. The wood pigeons have decided to nest in a tree right outside our window, on exactly the same branch as last year . Hoping to see some healthy babies again. The passerines , all the tiny birds are frantically picking out from the seed feeders and the bats are circling all around late evening , such tiny creatures who decided to sleep in the folded window shutter . The green woodpecker is determined that you will hear him above everybody else. Kerabellec is such a peaceful place , but full of busy wildlife.

Kerabellec looks absolutely stunning at the moment with all the blossoms and wisteria growing . A very pretty place to live or take a holiday. We are dog friendly provided that you clear up after them., with lots of beach or woodland walks. Our dogs love the space and the freedom.

The four gites at Kerabellec have all been professionally renovated to a high standard. Each gite has its own patio with garden furniture and a barbecue and the remainder of the three acres of grounds and gardens which can be used as play areas. Also shared is the communal laundry room and the in-ground heated swimming pool measuring 10 x 5m. The pool is securely fenced with ample space for sun bathing on the loungers. The gites are situated on the south facing slope of the valley of the River Tarun, where guests may fish for trout. Kerabellec is situated less than ten minutes by car away from Baud, with small shops, restaurants, bars, three supermarkets and a Saturday market. La Chapelle Neuve is just one kilometre away and has a convenience store and bakery within. There are also tennis courts in the village. The many beaches of Southern Morbihan are easily accessible on excellent roads, taking about 35 minutes to reach the closest. Southern Brittany is noted for its many golf courses, the closest is near Pontivy, 20 minutes away by car.
