After a day of châteaux-hopping we hit my favorite wine stop & chocolat chaud corner in Amboise.
has their delicious wines featured at their lovely storefront below the ramparts of the
Château Royal d’Amboise.
I was very excited to try a couple of new additions - the Sauvignon Blanc «Callipyge» &
the Chardonnay «Ballade des Dames».
Both are extraordinary! The SB is lively, pure and precise with citrus and minerality.
The Chardonnay is a nuanced mouthful of fresh yellow & white fruit and floral with a mere hint of curvaceous tendencies. The rest of the line-up is as superb as usual.
I can never leave without at least a case of goodies. The pétillants are super deals and are a staple in my cellar.

AND afterwards a stroll down the lane to the famous bigot chocolate paradise for some of tte most delicious hot chocolate! Decadent! Great end to a very blustery & rainy day.

Great food and wine combination last night.

The lovely new egg fermented Sauvignon Blanc Callipyge from and a Chinese inspired dinner.

Steamed Dorade with ginger matchsticks, shredded spring onions, soy sauce, sesame oil and garlic.

Served with pan fried courgettes and Noirmoutier potatoes.

’s Sauvignon is delightfully citrusy with nice weight and minerality without erring down the tropical road. Great to drink on its own or with food. It was very complementary to the dish.

Elle sera disponible à partir de demain dans notre boutique et à table 🇬🇧 Aged in oval ciment tanks our new cuvée « Callipyge » is a rich Sauvignon Blanc with notes of grapefruit and hints of ginger. It will be available as of tomorrow in our shop and our restaurant
