🍺 Erling’s Venner Smager: Flex by SOMA 🍺

This week, Francesc Joan Riera took the time to dive into FLEX, an IPA from none other than SOMA, and shared his thoughts with us:

"SOMA Flex is an outstanding beer straight from the get go. The can is easy to spot in Erlings fridge with the beautiful colored can, which is a relatively simple design but still charming in its own.

Once cold, opening the can bursts with an intense, tropical fruit aroma which is already a good sign we’re in for a lovely IPA ride. In mouth, however, the beer has some grass-iness to it, with the hazy notes kicking in, followed by that sweet, tropical breath, which is less noticeable in mouth than in nose.

All in all, I have to admit this is a beer I’ll be purchasing again. Being a 6% IPA, we can enjoy this can (or a couple of them) without feeling guilty, as it definitely bursts with flavor and is a fierce competitor with SOMA’s DIPAs, of which I’m a frequent buyer and scored almost 5/5 in Untapped 😉

And for the Untapped nerds, I gave this a 3.75/5 🙂

As my last remark, if in doubt on whether you’ll enjoy an IPA - go for one from SOMA, they won’t disappoint you, as they still haven’t disappointed me yet!"

Thank you for your great review—we’re happy you enjoyed the beer!

When in doubt, go for SOMA... That is certainly a good way to look at it 😋
Especially when it comes to IPAs, SOMA is always a safe choice if you are a fan of rich, powerful, and hop-forward brew. As you wrote, with a simple yet appealing can design, SOMA constantly delivers IPAs at an exceptional level to us, and we—as well as many of our regular customers—are always delighted and excited when a new batch from SOMA arrives at our shop!

Thank you again for your fine review 🙌

🍺 New Arrivals from Dois Corvos 🍺

This week, we received a whole lot of new beers—and among them are some fresh arrivals from Dois Corvos in Portugal 🌟

The new selection reflects a broad spectrum of styles, perfectly fitting the start of 2025! We’ve noticed that many breweries are celebrating beer diversity, which we welcome a lot. It’s essential that our fridges house not only excellent IPAs, solid Imperial Stouts, and sour beers, but also a wide range of styles so that we, as a bottle shop, and you, as craft beer enthusiasts, can truly celebrate beer diversity ✨

In this delivery, in addition to the recently introduced smoked beer from Bamberg, we have added another smoked beer from Portugal to the selection—a smoked Märzen. In addition, there’s an elegant Helles and a light, seductive Irish stout with a dangerously drinkable character; at a pleasant 4.2% ABV, it might even catch you off guard if you’re not careful 😉

When it comes to IPAs, you’ll find a Black IPA and a West Coast DIPA, and to round out the variety, there’s an Imperial Porter as well as a new BA Imperial Stout from the Murder Series—Murder on the Dance Floor.

Here’s the lineup in detail:

🍺 TRÊMA – 4.5% Helles Lager

🔥 SMOKE AND MIRRORS – 6.5% Smoked Märzen

🌲 GIANT SEQUOIA – 8.5% West Coast DIPA (With Comet, Cascade, Columbus)

🌑 NIGHT CREATURE – 6.3% Black IPA

☘️ YOU ME AND BANSHEE – 4.2% Irish Stout

🍫 FINISTERRA – 8.5% Imperial Porter

💀 MURDER ON THE DANCE FLOOR – 10% BA Imperial Stout (Carcavelos, Bourbon, Rum)

You’ll now find these exciting brews in our fridges 🏃💨

🍺 New Arrivals at Erlings 🍺

We’ve had some fine beers from Elmeleven and Northern Monk in our shop for a while now, but it’s time to put them in the spotlight 🌟

First up is 47.02 from Northern Monk—a stout from their Patreon Project series. This 8.4% stout is crafted without adjuncts, letting the malt shine with a moderate ABV that doesn’t skimp on flavour ✨

In contrast, Speaking Alien Language from Elmeleven is in a league of its own. This imperial stout, affectionately known as MELT, is loaded with smooth coconut cream and finished with unfermented maple syrup and caramel. It truly isn’t your average imperial stout—its name says it all when you pour it into your glass. MELT pushes the boundaries of what we’ve known so far, proving that some breweries in 2025 have made it their mission to stand out through creativity and extravagance (currently rated 4.12 on Untappd) 😋

Also in this delivery is an 8.4% DIPA from Elmeleven that puts the classic hops Nelson Sauvin and Citra in the spotlight with a bolder, stronger profile 🌿

Here’s the lineup in detail:

🔥 47.02 Patrons Projects (Northern Monk) – 8.4% Stout

🚀 BEYOND US (Elmeleven) – 10% Imperial Stout (Maple Cake Coconut Cream Melt Stout)

💥 Speaking Alien Language (Elmeleven) – 8.4% DIPA (With Nelson Sauvin and Citra)

You can find these beers on our shelves 🏃💨

🍺 Bundle of the Month: Expanding Beer Horizons 🍺

This month, we’re launching a new concept that will run throughout 2025 – our Bundle of the Month ✨

The idea came from one of the many inspiring conversations with you at Erlings Flaskebutik. One regular visitor mentioned that many beer subscription offers feel a bit monotonous, and they wished for more variety and excitement. We couldn’t agree more!

So, we decided to create monthly bundles that let you explore different beers and broaden your taste horizons. Each month, a different team member at Erlings Flaskebutik will curate a selection and share a bit about their choices. It’s not just about discovering new flavours – it’s also about getting to know the dedicated team of five who keep our shop running 🌟

Throughout 2025, we’ll be presenting new monthly bundles for members of Erlings Ølklub. As a member, you can purchase these bundles at a discounted rate and pick them up directly from our bottle shop - Not a member yet, sign up by using the following link: https://xn--erlingslklub-1jb.dk/

Kicking off February, Benedikt has put together a colourful mix of beers that showcases the diversity of beer styles, breweries, and countries. Local beers hold a special place for Benedikt (it’s almost a running joke among our team), so naturally this bundle includes something from Aarhus.

In his selection, you’ll find:

🍻 FYRAFTEN by Humleland, 7.5% Dry-Hopped Dubbel
🍻 VOX POPULI by Slowburn, 6.4% NEIPA (With Citra and Mosaic)
🍻 NO WHEELS by Garage Barcelona, 4.3% Best Bitter
🍻 HELLES – by Verdant, 4.8% Helles

This selection reflects February’s mix of bright and darker days, promising a well-rounded journey through different beer styles.

Bundle price: 175 kr (normal price: 206 kr).

When you purchase the bundle, you’ll also receive a detailed note describing the selection and a bit of the personality behind it ✉️

🍺 New Arrivals from Bamberg, Germany 🇩🇪

Last week, we received a fresh drop from two craft breweries based in Bamberg: Blech.Brut and Atelier Vrai!

Though we don’t always get deliveries from Bamberg, when we do, they’re worth the spotlight. Bamberg is a city of great historical significance in the beer world, both in Germany and beyond. While its traditional breweries are renowned for their famous smoked beers, the craft beer scene adds a modern twist to the city’s rich brewing culture ✨

This delivery features hop-forward, hazy IPAs that were already a hit at our recent IPA tasting, as well as a barrel-aged imperial stout. And of course, there’s a smoked beer in the mix, brewed with Bamberg craftsmanship 🔥 (currently rated 3.93 on Untappd)

Here’s the lineup:

🔥 LOOMING EYES – 5.8% Smoked Beer

🌿 QUIETLOUD – 6.5% NEIPA (Mosaic, Riwaka, Nelson Sauvin)

🍊 BACKFRONT – 7.8% DIPA (Simcoe, Rakau, Riwaka)

🌌 SPECTRAL STARE – 9.5% TIPA (Citra, Columbus, Riwaka, HBC630)

🥃 BLUE LINES OF THOUGHT – 11.3% Bourbon BA Imperial Stout

Based on our past experience with these breweries, you can expect top-notch quality—something confirmed by high ratings on Untappd!

For those rather seeking hop-driven brew, HopHooligans also has you covered two IPAS. Dead on Arrival is a classic West Coast IPA with a dry finish, but with a slightly modern twist of DDH using Strata and Nectaron hops, offering a beautiful balance for many palates 🌲🍍

🚛 Fresh Arrivals from Garage! 🍺

A fresh delivery from has just landed, and we’ve got a fine lineup for you with some familiar favourites and a few new surprises ✨

Staying true to the motto of easing into the new year, this selection brings a mix of low-ABV brews with exciting styles that range from easy-drinking lagers to hoppy session IPAs and craft-forward lagers 🍻

Craft breweries often face the challenge of differentiating their lagers from those produced by larger breweries. Hoppy lagers, like West Coast and New Zealand styles, give brewers the chance to make their mark with bold hop profiles 🌿🍺

One great example is KUSHTAKA, brewed with New Zealand hops Pacifica and Wai-iti. While it shares the brewing technique of their German-style RIBA Pils, the hop bill makes all the difference, creating a unique, refreshing more hop-forward flavour 🌿

Also included in this drop are other low-ABV options, some brewed with New Zealand hops as well, plus a true Garage classic: SOUP IPA with Citra and Mosaic hops—about as iconic as it gets when it comes to craft beer! 🍺✨

Here’s what’s now chilling in our fridges:

🏝️ CALETA – 3.4% Mediterranean Lager

🌿 KUSHTAKA – 5% New Zealand Lager (Pacifica & Wai-iti)

🍺 RIBA PILS – 5% Lager (Hallertau Mittelfrüh & Tettnanger)

🌊 OCATA – 5.4% Session IPA (Mosaic & Palisade)

🎮 POLYBIUS – 5% Session IPA (Pecharine, Motueka & Waimea)

🌅 SANTAKO – 6.4% Gluten-Free West Coast IPA (Citra, Simcoe, Columbus & Amarillo)

🥣 SOUP IPA – 6% NEIPA (Citra & Mosaic)

They’re now available in our fridges ❄️

🍺 News from Erlings 🍺

Tuesday morning started with a surprising message from one of our valued neighbours, whose business is just some meters down the road. We knew something was off when he asked if we had time for a quick chat—along with a photo of our sign, which usually hangs above our door.

Apparently, the sign had been found 500 meters down the road, having somehow been removed from the wall 😕

We’re relieved that it’s not too badly damaged and, after a little repair work, it should be good to go back up where it belongs. That said, we’re definitely puzzled—and not too thrilled—about how it ended up there in the first place 🤔

Maybe someone mistook it for a pull-up bar and overestimated the strength of the bolts? Or perhaps someone, in a moment of questionable decision-making, thought it might make a cool souvenir—only to reconsider after a short 500-meter walk.

We’re not sure what happened, but if anyone has a clue, we'd appreciate to hear it! We get it—mistakes happen, and maybe even after a beer or two, not all ideas are great ones 🍻

If someone wants to reach out and have a chat about it, we would be thankful and open to that 🙂

Vi ses (even if for now, without a sign on the wall) 🙂

🍺 Fresh Arrival from Observatoriet 🍺

Today, we’ve received another fresh creation from Observatoriet – MONUMENT Golden Wild Ale – Tilquin Barrel 🎉

Some of you might recognize the bottle, as the Monument Golden Wild Ale – Côte d'Or has been on our shelves for some time now. That version was a golden wild ale matured for 14 months in Côte d'Or barrels.

The new Monument Golden Wild Ale – Tilquin Barrel, on the other hand, spent 14 months maturing in barrels from Geuzerie Tilquin, which gave it its unique character – and its name 🍇🛢️

Both beers share a golden yellow colour and an ABV of 8.3%, spiced and cold-hopped at the end of maturation to bring out even more complexity. When it comes to the Monument Golden Wild Ale – Tilquin Barrel, it's said that there was still a touch of lambic left in the barrels when they were filled with Monument, adding an extra layer of depth 🍾✨

That’s what we know for now—some other details remain a well-kept secret, which is understandable given the consistently high quality of Observatoriet’s releases 😉

What’s no secret? The beer is now available in our shop, and as always, it’s set to deliver at a high level 🙌
