The Cohiba Robusto is one of the most iconic vitolas from Cohiba and has been around since 1989. It measures at 12.4cm by 50 ring gauge - handmade with leaves🍃 from the five finest Vegas de Primera in San Juan y Martinez and San Luis districts of the Vuelta Abajo zone, Cuba🇨🇺 - that undergo an additional fermentation in barrels🛢️.

This cigar is well constructed, delivering an array of flavors that consists notes of Honey🍯, Grass🌿, Coffee☕️, Mocha🧋, Citrus🍊, Vanilla🍨, Hay🌾, Butter🧈, Cream🧁, Spice 🌶️, Cedar🪵, Floral🌸, Lemon🍋, Baking Spice🫚, Caramel🍮, Earth🍂, Cracker🧇, Leather💼, Nut🥜, Chocolate🍫, and Cinnamon🥨 at medium-full strength that lasts for about an hour.

The Cohiba Robusto, at least in my opinion, has a perfect draw, not as lightly blend or loosely rolled as the Hoyo De Monterrey or not as packed or peppery as the Partagas. It strikes a beautiful balance of a sweet medium-full bodied cigar.

Today, 35 years later since its release, the Cohiba Robusto is still in high demand and can still command high prices at retail📈🤑. There is a reason why people have been loyally buying and enjoying them for so long🙋🏻‍♂️🛒.

Punch is one of the oldest Habanos brands, founded in 1840 by Stockmann, the brand was named after a European puppet show character - Mr. Punch. In 1874, the brand was bought by a Luis Corujo, and again in 1884, purchased by Manuel López Fernández and its bands and boxes still bear his name to this day. Unfortunately after retiring in 1924 and dying shortly after, López gave ownership of the brand to Esperanza Valle Comas until the stock market crash of 1929📉🔻.

Like most other businesses around the world, the Cuban cigar industry faced financial hardships. In 1930, the firm of Fernández, Palicio y Cía bought up the brand and maintained its popularity with British cigar smokers. By the time of the Cuban embargo, Fernando Palicio fled Cuba for Florida, where he subsequently sold his cigar lines to Frank Llaneza and Dan Blumenthal of Villazon & Co., which has continued to make Punch, Hoyo de Monterrey, and Belinda ci**rs from Honduran to***co for the 🇺🇸American market.

As 🇨🇺Cuba Nationalised the to***co industry, punch continued production and as a matter of fact, the Punch Petit coronations was one of the formats that has been around since before the Cuban revolution. It measures at 11.7cm by 40ring gauge - a coronita that is traditionally hand rolled with leaves from the Vuelta Abajo region, Cuba🇨🇺.

This cigar delivers flavoursome notes of Cream🧁, Leather💼, Spice🌶️, Wood🪵, bread🍞, and Tobacco🍃 at medium strength and lasts for 30 minutes. A very good cigar, that is often overlooked, nowadays😁👍🏻.

The Hoyo De Monterrey Monterreyes No.4 is a limited edition production for 2021, released in mid-2023. It is presented in a varnished slid-box of 10 which each cigar measuring at 14.5cm by 55 ring gauge - a Monterreyes No.4 vitola that was specially selected and handmade with Long Filler wrapper, filler and binder leaves from the Vuelta Abajo plantations, in the region of Pinar del Río, Cuba🇨🇺 - that is aged for a minimum of 2 years.

Despite its size, this cigar is incredibly smooth and light to begin with and immaculate draw and burn - delivering a light-medium-bodied flavour that consists notes of cedar🪵, leather💼, cereal🌾, chocolate🍫, cream🧁, hay🌾, earth🍂, nuts🥜, spice🌶️, and hints of floral🌺 lasting for about 45-50minutes - and for sure has become a sought-after collector’s item.
