Second to None: An Edition Worth Savoring
The Dos Delinquentes Fiji 2006/2024 is distinguished by two main features: its impressive 72.5% ABV and its maturation in varying climates. After spending more than eleven years aging in the tropical South Pacific, it was matured from 2017 to 2024 in Europe, where it acquired its delightful creaminess.
Distilled in pot stills in the Jamaican style, the Fiji Rum was created in double retort stills, known for producing rich and aromatic spirits. Aged in fresh bourbon barrels and bottled directly from one of these casks with no additives, the Dos Delinquentes Single Cask brings a bold, full-bodied complexity to lovers of characterful rums. Surprising in its creaminess, this limited release of only 256 bottles offers a sensory journey with maritime flavors intertwined with tar, rubber, olives, and ripe tropical fruits.

Tasting Notes:
Nose: A powerful opening reminiscent of salty sea breezes, with bold notes of olives, anchovies, tar, and seawater. Hints of fresh rubber and soft hand cream round out the aroma. A splash of water intensifies the maritime profile, bringing licorice and machinery oil to the forefront, deepening the rum’s character.
Palate: Despite the impressive 72.5% ABV, the alcohol is well-integrated, delivering a surprisingly smooth and creamy mouthfeel. Ripe bananas and juicy pineapples lead the tropical fruit profile, which pairs perfectly with notes of tar, rubber, and olives. A subtle fishy note (perhaps sardines) enhances the flavor, while a pastry-like creaminess glows in the background, completing the experience.
Finish: Long, complex, and intense. Grapefruit notes persist, accompanied by a salty aftertaste that elegantly highlights the rum’s maritime essence. The creamy texture lingers all the way to the end
