Wine and Venetian Bites / Ombre e Cicchetti

After this summer’s fun evening, Balera will once again transform into a Venetian Bacaro—this time for the whole weekend!

Bacari date back to the 18th century, when they were simple establishments frequented by people of modest means who couldn’t afford a full meal at a trattoria. Following this tradition, Balera will serve small bites of classic cicchetti, including Baccalà, Polenta, Salame, and vegan Polpette.

On Friday evening, we’re excited to welcome Sharon and Antonio, the winemakers of , who will introduce our guests to their natural wines. These wines will be available throughout the weekend, both by the glass and by the bottle.

On Saturday, we’ll have an all-day Bacaro session, with cicchetti served from 12 PM to 11 PM. The day will be accompanied by a great selection of music from , , and more TBA.

Excited to welcome our first shipment of wines from Ciro’, now at Balera! Located on Calabria’s sunny and dry Ionian coast, Ciro’ is an area where Gaglioppo thrives. During my visit last summer, I got to know this unique region, its winemaking history and vibrant rose’ culture. We are bringing to Berlin wines from three great producers - and . Each bottle is distinct, very good, and reflects the land, the sea and the warm, dry climate. Some are avaiable by the glass this week - come by and taste them for yourself!
