I'm at the OIJ (Costa Rican police) reporting a crime today. We were selling a little inflateable boat on Facebook Marketplace, but the buyer sent us faked bank transfer receipts. When the money didn't hit our bank, we decided to hand over the boat when the bank transfer arrived. That's when the death threats started.

This is spalted Cocobolo Rosewood. Rosewood is normally dark, but this is the light colored outer part of the tree near the bark, the sapwood. The beautiful black lines (spalting) are fungi. Cocobolo Rosewood is such a hard wood that even the sapwood is hard. We deliberately allowed the fungi to grow in the logs to create this effect, and then stopped the effect before the fungi could take over.
