If you are unsure of the legitimacy of an email it’s possible to click on the sender and it will show you the email address from which the message was sent.

Letter mail weighs up to 500g

Parcels are free to designated Canadian forces overseas missions until the end of the year to the following:

All PO Box numbers, station forces, Halifax, NS B3K 5X5

All PO Box numbers, station forces, Victoria, BC V9A 7N2

All PO Box numbers, station forces, Belleville, ON K8N 5W6

Parcels and letters should include:

Rank, initials, and name of Canadian forces member

Section or mess number

HMCS (name of ship) or unit

Postal box number

Name of city, province , postal code

Max weight of parcels is 20kg
Max weight of letters is 500g

This will be available until Dec 31, 2023

It’s Mike’s last day!

It’s been a weird week.
One of our longest serving employees passed away late last week and this week, our longest serving employee says goodbye as he moves on to the next chapter in his life.
I first met Mike after I returned from my honeymoon.
Back then I mostly worked weekends as I was trying to build my career. I showed up to the store and this skinny kid was behind the counter.
“Who the heck are you?” I said to him
“I’m the new guy,” he said.
“Geez,” I thought to myself, “my dad will hire anyone. This guy won’t last long”
24 years later, here we are.
Mike’s been one of our most reliable employees in our history. He worked nights. He worked weekends. He worked 10 hour shifts ( not too often, maybe a handful of times because you know Mike…;))
He filled in when people had emergencies.
He filled in when all of our children were born.
He filled in when I wanted to be there for my kids first day of school.
He filled in when our kids graduated high school.
And lastly, he filled in so Sandy and I could visit Betty one last time in hospice,
Mike’s been like furniture here. Just a constant.
He’s been here a long time.
It’s going to feel weird without him.
So what’s he doing? He’s trading in his Vans for mukluks and moving north.
Like WAY north.
Kuujjuarapik, Quebec. It’s a village with almost 1000 people!
He will be taking a position as a manager of one of the stores for the North West Company.
They’ll be like a P-jays on steroids. Bigger stores, vehicle sales , loans and of course groceries and snacks.
We wish Mike the best of luck in his new venture.
Come say good bye to him Saturday for his last shift!

We are sorry to announce the passing of one of our own, Betty Chalcraft.
Many of you knew her as our post office lady for many, many years until she retired in 2016.
We will miss her dearly
The store will be closed for a few hours on Thursday November 9 so we can attend her funeral.
