In the repurposed space of an old printing company, located a short walk from Windsor’s historical Walkerville district, you will find the Chapter Two Brewing Company. In the five years since it opened to the public, it has made its presence felt in the Windsor craft beer scene and it has become a favourite destination for many craft beer enthusiasts.
 
The secret to their success is unique and delicious craft beers, a great atmosphere and dedication to their community and neighbourhood. Oh… and did I mention the artwork on the cans? That alone is worth the trip.
 
The great beer is the reason you go to Chapter Two but if you’re going anyway, you might want to check out one of the many cool events they host throughout the month. If you are a collector of vinyl, head there one Sunday a month to browse and buy or chat with the vendors who bring their expansive collection of new and classic artists. In the heart of downtown Kingsville, Ontario, you will find the Banded Goose Brewery, a name that pays homage to the town’s legendary ornithologist and conservationist Jack Miner, whose groundbreaking work and dedication a century ago rescued the nearly extinct Canadian Goose.
 
The Loop family has been involved in the craft beer scene since 2010, and for several years experimented with their own recipes. In 2013, in response to popular demand for more of their craft beers, they converted the prep kitchen in their restaurant into a small “nano brewery” and the Banded Goose Brewery was born. They’re creativity, dedication and commitment to excellence has paid off as they are one of Kingsville’s most popular food and drink destinations.
 
Banded Goose Brewery has deep community connections and they are active and enthusiastic participants in the local scene. One of their most notable community projects is the School Gift Certificate Program which has raised over 100,000 dollars for Kingsville elementary schools over the past 6 years.

Forked River Brewing Company - LONDON’S CALLING! That’s right, Suds Runner has arrived in London and partnered up with the amazing Forked River Brewing Company. Look for their exceptional brews in our upcoming curations!

London, Ontario is a city steeped in beer history. More than a decade after the last craft brewery in London closed down, the Forked River Brewing Company opened in 2013, marking a revival of London’s brewing heritage.

Two of London’s famous breweries, Carling and Labatts were located at the converging forks of the Thames River, and David Reed, Andrew Peters and Steve Nazarian, the founders of Forked River Brewing Company, decided the name of their brewery should pay homage to that little piece of brewing history.

The Forked River Brewing Company recently celebrated its 10th Anniversary, proving that dedication, passion and brewing prowess are the keys to success in the craft brewing industry.

Forked River Brewing isn’t just about beer. Sure, they craft exceptional and unique beers, but they also foster important community connections. While at university, Kieran Buzek likes to point out that he received a double major – one in Business and one in Beer Appreciation. It would appear that the knowledge and skills gleaned from both of those degrees helped him in the founding of the Top Dog Brewing Company. Located on a family farm in Kingsville Ontario, Top Dog Brewery boasts a “small but mighty” crew that consists of Kieran (master brewer, marketer and everything in between), his grandfather Joe, (builder and handyman extraordinaire), and his two dogs Tulo and Maverick who inspired the name of the brewery. Eschewing the brew pub model for now, the focus of Top Dog is on producing great beer. With lagers, ales, stouts, porters, IPAs, as well as inspired seasonals and one-offs that will appeal to beer enthusiasts across the board, Top Dog Brewing Company embodies the spirit of a true micro brewery.

Sons of Kent Brewing Co 🤘🍻 deep dive!

Located just off the 401 almost exactly halfway between Windsor and London, Chatham Ontario boasts one of the best micro breweries the province has to offer. The Sons of Kent Brewing Company was founded in 2016 by four friends who all hail from Kent County, and thus, are all “sons of Kent”. The brewery offers a diverse selection of craft beer that includes their highly sought after standards as well as a number of creatively crafted seasonals and special staff inspired beers that are featured throughout the year. The brewery is also a popular gathering place for those who want to share beer and food with friends while listening to terrific live entertainment. With some of their mainstay beers already found on the shelves in the LCBO and Beer Store, Suds Runner is excited to feature some of those SOK beers that you may not have had the opportunity to try. We’re sure that you’ll enjoy them as much as we do.

“Makers of craft beer & awesomeness” from Amherstburg, ON. Cheers! 🍻

Lot 10 Brewery is a family operation that is based in Amherstburg Ontario. The historic building that it calls home boasts a colourful history dating back to 1798 when “Lot 10” was first assigned to a young British soldier and his family. Its history as a purveyor of beer and spirits began in 1839 under the name of Bullock’s Tavern. The building on Lot 10 has changed hands many times and housed numerous shops and businesses over the past century. A few years back, the founders of Lot 10 Brewery decided to refurbish and re-dedicate the Lot 10 building to one of its earliest endeavours. They opened their Amherstburg micro brewery and now offer a wide variety of delicious craft creations – “that include traditional and seasonal beers, beers with a twist, and beer inspired cocktails.” The combination of tasty craft beer, excellent food, warm hospitality and exciting live entertainment makes Lot 10 Brewery a true hot spot in historic Amherstburg.

Banded Goose Brewery from Kingsville Ontario and Red Barn Brewery from Blenheim Ontario.

Check out Jack’s Golden Ale from Banded Goose. A delicious smooth drinking ale named after one of Kingsville’s own - Jack Miner - one of Canada’s most prominent 20th century conservationists. It’s a local favourite!

Think that you’re not a fan of sours? This Peach Nectarine Cobbler from Red Barn might make you change your mind. Definitely one of the best sours we’ve ever tasted, the recipe for this beer includes 2 bushels of fresh local peaches. Incredible. A must try!

The Muddy York Brewing Company first, and most importantly, brews amazing beer. Featuring Gold Medal winning Helles Lager and Muddy York Porter, aptly named bookends, Working Hard New England IPA and Hardly Working Pale Ale, creative concoctions such as Duck Duck Juice and Freudian Sip Vienna Lager and daring brews like Jail Fire Rauchbier, Muddy York will soothe, refresh and challenge every beer lover’s palette. The high ceiling Tap Room is spacious and family friendly. It’s also dog friendly, as long as your dog doesn’t mind sharing space with Nelson, the brewery’s friendly cat.
