Now that we have those couple of pesky snowflakes out of the way……..

With the support of ALM Energy Services joining us in our “Christmas Families” tradition this year we are so excited to let you know that we were able to support 5 families with a total of 18 children this year! That’s something we feel pretty great about. 💗🎄We would be remiss, however, if we did not also thank the private individuals who donated to our cause. With their incredibly generous cash support we were able to put an additional $1050 toward our families. And I’m not even finished telling you about the kindnesses of private individuals……..we had another gracious family offer us 2 FULL turkey dinners with EVERY “fixin” you could possibly imagine, as well as a FULL breakfast for 2 families. These will support 2 families in addition to our selected 5! 💗❤️

As we have mentioned previously, this is our 11th year with this tradition of giving back to the community. We wouldn’t be able to do what we do if we didn’t have the support of the community all throughout the year…….so, THANK YOU for allowing us to be in a position to give back. I would also like to thank Cody & Emma McKellar for reaching out on behalf of their business ALM Energy Services to partner with us this year. Having other businesses join us in some way has always been my hope and they were absolutely wonderful to partner with!

Just a reminder, we’ve already received several nominations for some families who could benefit from a little help, but if you’ve been meaning to send in your nomination to us…..now is the time! The deadline for nominations is tomorrow, December 18th @ 6:00 pm. We will be contacting chosen families the following day.

🎄🎅🏼 Well, it’s that time of year again!!!!! 🎅🏼🎄Wallace RiteStop & Ultramar’s Christmas Family!

But first, we have some exciting news to announce…….this year we’re thrilled to share that ALM Energy will be partnering with us so that we can reach even more families this Christmas!

We are, for our 11th year, asking the community to search their hearts for a family who they feel could use a little extra help this holiday season! We’re specifically looking to support a family with school aged children in the Wallace/Tatamagouche/Pugwash area. The ways in which we support vary from year to year based on our chosen family’s needs. That can include special gifts, groceries, a Christmas tree & gift wrap or even oil for the barrel to stay warm and toasty. Last year we were able to support 3 families…….PLUS $250 grocery gift cards to 4 other families through generous donations from the community! I’ve already had a handful of private community members who have reached out because they’d like to be involved……..we’re so thrilled to have them join us in helping also!

As always, our families and nominations stay strictly confidential so we ask that you send nominations to us as a private message through our page or by email: [email protected]
We will close nominations at 6pm on Wednesday, December 18th and notify our selected families the following day.

As most of you have heard, the government’s announcement of the GST/HST “holiday” is set to take effect tomorrow December 14th, 2024 through to and including February 15, 2025.

As you can imagine, most of us in retail have been scrambling as we try to consider how to effectively implement these changes in a way that causes the least disruption to our customers. We think we’ve figured that out………however, we would ask that our customers have patience as we navigate these BIG changes.
