We want to give a shout out to Mark E Langille at Mark’s Power Wash for the outstanding services and incredible job he did at both the store as well as our home! The difference was truly astounding and we plan to have him back in the Spring for additional projects that we have.

If you’re looking for top quality and professional services he’s your guy!! His prices were beyond reasonable and for as busy as he is, he fit us in quickly! I would definitely recommend giving him a call!

It’s no secret that Sidney Crosby spends some of his off season time in his home province of NS! It seems he’s also spending some of that time in Wallace/Fox Harbr. The lucky Sheena Bennett served him at the store this morning when he filled up at the pumps. She didn’t get a picture (she had no idea it was him…..hehe……until another customer filled her in) but he still left a little something behind so we’d know it was him! 🏒🥅🏆

The canteen at Wallace Ballfield will be having a BBQ on Friday, June 7, and Saturday, June 8, from 11 to 3pm. Wallace ballfield will be one of the locations hosting Woman Provincals. We all know we miss our local restaurant, so take advantage and treat yourself during your lunch hour as an employee in the village or if you don't wish to cook... All proceeds to our new commercial playground fund.

Can you even believe it’s May Long Weekend?! We just wanted to pop on to say that, effective tomorrow, Friday, we will begin shifting to our summer hours!! I know many will be happy to hear this.

For now:

Monday - Thursday 6:30 - 8:00
Friday 6:30 - 9:00
Saturday 7:00 - 9:00
Sunday 8:00 - 8:00

We’ll shift to more extended hours again later in June!

In appreciation of all the beautiful, amazing, selfless and exhausted Mothers out there we will be having a draw on 10lbs of lobster 🦞 and a bottle of wine!🍷

So, tomorrow, Sunday….. You will earn a ballot for the draw with any purchases made in store. We will draw a lucky winner on Monday and make arrangements for lobster pick up.

🚨UPDATED to say…….🚨

Habib at Derado's Pizzeria and Donair in Tatamagouche is one of the most community minded members of the north shore area! He has, so kindly, donated 4 pizzas toward our cause. He has the biggest heart and has supported us every year that we’ve done this. Forever grateful for our partnership with Derado’s and Habib………thank you, my friend! 💜

I’ve honestly lost track of how many years we’ve done this but I think it’s safe to say, it’s a tradition at this point……..

“Running day”…….the day our hard working fishermen & women drop their traps in the water……is finally here! Tomorrow, we will be offering free hot dogs, sausage or pizza to our fishermen & women as well as their helpers! It’s our way of wishing them a safe and prosperous season ahead.

To celebrate we will also be doing TWO draws for 10lbs of lobster and a 12pk of beer. Any purchase tomorrow qualifies you for a ballot and we will draw on Sunday. We will do the second draw a little later in the month in honour of Mother’s Day. 🛥️⚓️🦞

Today we celebrate International Women’s Day and I would be remiss if I didn’t honour these 5 women! Without them, I don’t know what I would do…….so please allow me to tell you a bit about them.

Shenna - this woman is the life of the party! Her laugh and that beautiful smile can instantly turn your day around. She is funny and kind…….if you’ve visited the store while she’s working you’ve, no doubt, been called: sweetie, doll or honey! We love her!!

Bonnie - I’ve chased this woman for years to come and work with us at the store and my persistence finally paid off! She is one of the STRONGEST women I know….smart, brave and SO FUNNY!! She has brought us all to our knees in laughter on countless occasions. We love her!! (*Fun fact, Bonnie gave me my first “real” job when I was 16 scooping ice cream at The Lickity Split Dairy Bar!!)

Karen - this amazing lady, well…..she never stands still! She is so incredibly hard working, loyal and FUNNY! Don’t let her pint size fool you, she has no problem holding her own……..if you get unruly she’ll put you in your place! I have been so fortunate to have her return every December to work with us all winter. We love her!!

Wanda - this beautiful woman has been my right arm for many years now! She is one of the most caring and empathetic women I’ve ever known. The dedication and loyalty she has shown to me over our years together cannot be matched. Her big heart can only be matched by her stubbornness! We love her!!

Heather - she’s been saving my sanity since the very beginning! I am so incredibly thankful that she chose to stick with me and nearly 12 years later she’s STILL keeping my data entry straight! She’s also one of those real people you can share anything with……she’s acted as my sounding board more times than I could count. Like the others, she is so strong and she’s worked so hard to create a beautiful life for her family. We love her!!

There are 1 million other qualities that are worthy of mentioning that these women all possess. I value them as coworkers, but I admire them as strong, successful, and independent women who have time and time again had to handle way more than what could ever be considered fair.

Today, and every day, I bow to you! ❤️💜❤️💜❤️
