Last week, we woke up to a call from the RCMP informing us that someone had attempted to break into our store.
It was a horrifying experience to see the damage caused to our store, as it felt like a part of us had been ripped away.
This store is not just a business to us, it is our life and identity.
We are all struggling to survive these days and it is unfortunate that some people are willing to cause harm to others in order to survive.
We have video footage of the incident, but watching it is extremely painful for us.
The footage shows the criminal banging on the windows, then leaving to pick up a flower pot to throw at the store.
They later returned with two boulder-like rocks and threw them at the windows, resulting in the destruction of four windows.
Initially, we had planned to keep this to ourselves, but after learning that other businesses and homes had also been broken into at a similar time, we decided to share our story.
We hope that by doing so, people will be more aware of what is happening in our town and hopefully help to identify the culprit.
We need to work together to keep our town safe.
As residents, it is our responsibility to do so.
And PLEASE SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESSES.
