People who drop unaccepted items right beside the list of accepted items are truly a special breed.
That being said, gently used baby toys available for FREE at the store!

Two years ago today we got the keys. Took til January to make it ours and open the doors but I like to think in the whole picture two years is a pretty short time for how far we've come. Absolutely no regrets with this banger of a spontaneous decision. 🀣

Count down is on! There's are only a few more sleeps until rifle season starts so don't forget we are a MNR license issuer. You can renew your outdoors card, buy licensing and print your tags in store. While you're there, increase your chances and buy some deer apples or feed from our friends at Rack Stacker Inc. Good luck Hunters! And you too deer πŸ˜‰

It's no wonder I've picked Kenny Perry to be my right hand. Not only has he decorated the store with all his own decorations he's been sporting a costume handmade by his mom, Diane Perry quite a few years ago all day long. Do me a favor, stop in with your kids to see him! He's got treats to hand out tonight and would love to see them. Happy Halloween to all our customers!

Yup! We're open and back to regular hours for both the store and Nat's Place. I'm humbled by the support and amount of empathy our community has shown and can't thank you enough for your patience. Here's an update on our 'patients'...
Vada successfully made the trip out of the hunting camp and traveled to KGH. The team of doctors attempted to set her break externally with not a satisfying result so she is now home, fasting and awaiting her turn for surgery.
Thomas made the trip to Capital City Specialty & Emergency Animal Hospital in Kanata and was admitted. The team has a plan in order and as of this mornings call, no real diagnosis has been made but his 'personality' is starting to show (if you know you know) He's is being sedated and given then full go over as this is written.
In both cases I am comfortable and confident in amazing end results and am sure life will return to normal chaotic instead of insanely chaotic quite soon.
Again, I can't thank our friends, staff and neighbors for all your understanding.
Best,
Natalie

A long drive and just as long of a wait for us to be told another vet can't help. Thomas is traveling back to Tweed so we can come up with a new course of action for him. In the meantime our 12 year old daughter is returning from her very first moose hunting trip very early and in a cast. For Vada, we wait on a call from a pediatric surgeon at KGH to advise on repairing the growth plate in the foot she broke. Store hours will be hit or miss today while we take care of who is special to us. Hopefully by tomorrow we will be back to regular scheduled hours. In the meantime say a little prayer, cross your fingers or do whatever you do for ours. ✌️

Heads up! We will be opening late tomorrow Tuesday October 22. As some of you know our main man Thomas has been very ill and after weeks of testing and no diagnosis Natalie will be bringing him to a new vet for another opinion. They have agreed to see him before they are even open however it's an hour away and she'll need time to travel back. We will open as soon as we possibly can however as mentioned it will be later then usual. Thanks for your understanding.

Maybe it's a case of he said she said or in my opinion it's more likey a corporation that was pushed to take on extra work that they may not have been prepared for..... but please be advised we have almost NO large cases of beer. And will not be receiving any until Monday. We do have lots of 6 packs and singles and our liquor order arrived as usual. Natalie is not a nice human right now but for the first and hopefully the last she encourages you to buy your 24s and 30s elsewhere. Sincerest apologies for any inconvenience. Please share.

Today I'm thankful for staff who give me crap for showing up on my day off and try to keep the fact my very expensive coffee maker is broken a secret until I return. We've changed our hours so they can also spend some time with their families! Happy Thanksgiving to all our friends, family and customers!

There are a few people asking if we are having a bike night tonight.... we do not have a musician booked nor do we have a draw planned. BUT the weather is supposed to turn around here shortly so for those interested, Adam W Mitts and his Aprilia will be hanging out at the store tonight from 5 til darkish. We welcome all that want to join him and will still be offering our riders discount Nat's Place.

Based on the behavior of the gentleman who came into the store with receipts from beer stores and convenience stores from here to tim buck too it's time to have a chat about pricing and what the implementation of alcohol in corner stores means for us.
This could be lengthy but... the more you know.
First let's start with pricing. Up until September 6th our store was required to follow LCBO pricing on items ordered from them and Beer store pricing on items ordered from their warehouse. Liquour store pricing changes every 3 weeks and the beer store every Monday. Since then a change has been made that all of our pricing is handed down from the LCBO even though we still order from the beer store. We are audited quarterly to make sure we are doing so. Businesses who now have the new license get to make their own price. It can be as high or low as they want as long as it doesn't go below wholesale pricing. (Which would just be poor business). What this means for you is that there will be times where our beer will be cheaper then the beer store and vice versa. You can talk to your local corner store owner in regards to their own pricing. If I still have your interest here is a few differences in our licenses.
1) we are an LCO (liquor convenience outlet) our license is issued by the LCBO. Corner stores receive their license from the AGCO (Alcohol and Gaming Commision of Ontario)
2) the application process for us took months, the application for the new license can be approved in hours.
3) Convenience stores can sell beer, wine, ciders and coolers. We can sell all of the above as well as spirits.
4) our staff takes a mandatory training course issued by the LCBO yearly. Convenience stores take smart serve which is what bartenders take and it's valid for 5 years.

I am thrilled by the support we have received since we opened and trust that our dedicated customers will continue to shop with us. If you have any questions regarding the above please do not hesitate to ask.
Best,
Natalie.

That's a wrap on the 2024 market season! Our second year of doing this and man was it not only successful but fun too. Thank you to all the people who showed up to support our vendors but more importantly thank you to the vendors who took a chance on us! If you've never seen the work that goes into something like this you wouldn't understand. But these people spend weeks prior preparing their product and are there to set up as soon as the sun rises. There is heavy lifting, forgetting something important and of course setting up the dreaded canopy tent. They do it because they love what they do and they want to share it with you. Things such as that are important and I'm so happy to be a part of it. We can't wait to do it again in 2025.
Big thanks to Jayne Shakespear β€’ Artist for taking these pictures for me. She was supposed to ask someone to take one of her in my absence but didn't. Payback will be tenfold. Xo.

Here we go..... last vendor market of the 2024 season happens tomorrow! As per usual we have an incredible line up of hard working entrepreneurs coming to share their products with you. It's been a hugely successful summer and we can't thank the people who have supported enough but if you were willing to do it one more time that would be great! If you've never been, tomorrow is your chance!
