is one of the jewels in our Napa portfolio — set high atop Howell Mountain at the north end of Napa Valley, their estate boasts 120 acres of prime hillside vineyards on Howell Mountain itself, as well as vineyards on Mount Veeder and in Oakville.

Betty O'Shaughnessy, a trailblazing woman in the wine industry, founded the winery in 1990 along with her husband, Paul Woolls and winemaker Sean Capiaux. With a commitment to sustainable farming practices and a deep respect for the land, O'Shaughnessy is dedicated to producing wines of unparalleled quality that are a true reflection of the vineyards they come from.

For today's Weekly Drop, we are offering the newly released 2019 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon and the highly acclaimed 2019 Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon. O'Shaughnessy will not release a 2020 vintage, so now is the time to stock your cellar with these exceptional wines — The Weekly Drop is available through the link in bio 🍷

The spark that became Carter Cellars began in the 1980s at a bed-and-breakfast in Eureka, California.

Owner Mark Carter had a passion for fine dining and the restaurant at his eponymous Carter House quietly evolved into a highly regarded destination for international foodies. Mark amassed an impressive award winning wine list and soon he was hosting winemaker dinners with Napa’s top vintners. These dinners led him to meet and befriend legendary winemaker Nils Venge. With a shared passion for Napa Valley Cabernet, they made the first vintage of Carter Cellars in 1998.

Today, Carter is best known for their famed Carter Cellars Beckstoffer To Kalon Cabernet, a wine that continues to receive top scores from critics worldwide. Over time Carter’s allocation of To Kalon has increased, which has given them the opportunity to produce wines from specific vineyard blocks.

The attentive sourcing along with purist and low-interventionist winemaking practices of these limited production wines are a true master class in expressing the terroir of some of the most celebrated examples of Napa Valley Cabernet.

Availability of top-tier Cabernet allocations are very limited — read & subscribe to The Weekly Drop through the link in bio 🍷

In 1998, with incredible foresight, the Huneeus family purchased 112 acres in a then undiscovered region of Napa Valley called Coombsville. They planted Cabernet Sauvignon and released the first vintage of from the 2002 vintage.

Cabernet Sauvignon thrives in the volcanic soils in Coombsville and the cooling breezes allow the grapes to stay on the vine for longer, gaining complexity. Wines from the region are prized for their lush backbone of ripe fruit, freshness and fine tannins; authentically Napa but with a nod to their European cousins.

Faust has quickly become a benchmark for Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, and for today's Weekly Drop, we're excited to offer you 2 formats of this incredible wine, in 750ml and 1500ml (magnums!) We are also now offering free shipping to most postal codes in Ontario, with no case limits — link in bio to read & subscribe to The Weekly Drop 🍷

From the well-drained and east-facing slopes of the Bourbonne and Mouge valleys, the wines of Viré-Clessé are famous for their delicate herbal notes.

The nose makes an immediate impression with a bouquet of acacia, honeysuckle, lemon, and white peach — but if you have the patience to age it a couple years, ripe aromas of quince jam and cooked apples will develop ✨

Lively and fresh, with a sharp acidity, this wine is a perfect introduction to Mâconnais whites.

For many, is known as a Zinfandel pioneer that produces delicious estate-grown Zinfandel — notably Lytton Springs and Geyserville — in some of the most exceptional sites in California wine country.

Winemaker, Paul Draper, employs a practical, hands-off approach that he describes as ‘pre-industrial’ winemaking. The ethos is simple — 100% dedication in the vineyards to promote vine health and grow grapes with all the building blocks to make great wine, followed by 100% patience in the winery and only necessary intervention to draw all the fruit's natural richness into the wine.

Once asked what the single most important device was for making fine wine, Draper responded, “the wine glass.” Tasting, rather than a recipe, is how Ridge winemakers guide a wine from vine to bottle.

On offer today is a selection of Zinfandels from the 2020 vintage, as well as the 2019 Estate Cabernet (Monte Bello’s alter ego) — you can order directly at rogcowines.com! 🍷

is a definitive “Mountain Winery” ⛰️

Near the top of Howell Mountain, the focus is on producing spectacular wines from the iconic mountain appellations of Napa Valley.

The winery was founded over 30 years ago with the philosophy that wines should be made with minimal intervention so that each appellation's particular qualities are displayed in the finished wine.

Distinguished by concentration and power, these wines are not for the faint of heart. If you like your wines to be full-throttle yet still offer great potential for long-term ageing, these should be in your collection.

Tiyanne's pick this week is the perfect summer staple ☀️

Astrolabe Sauvignon Blanc is a stunning example of the modern Marlborough style. It is impressively balanced with a ripe bouquet of elderflower, gooseberry, and passionfruit. A question often asked of sommeliers is “what is your favourite wine?”

They always dodge the question, squirming to pick just one favourite child, BUT Bethann is here today to tell you that her favourite wine is Chenin Blanc — specifically from the Loire Valley in France.

For the Weekly Drop, we are excited to present you with 's breathtaking and diverse array of single vineyard Vouvrays, ranging from sparkling to still to dry to sweet.

Founded in 1928 by Parisian bistro owner Victor Huet, Domaine Huet is widely considered to be Vouvray's greatest producer, consistently crafting complex and age-worthy Chenin Blanc in a remarkable range of styles.

All three famous Huet vineyards — Le Haut Lieu, Le Mont, and Clos du Bourg — are farmed using organic and biodynamic practices. Each of these unique sites is capable of producing Chenin Blanc in an array of styles.

As Huet production is small, availability of these wines is extremely limited ✨ Best to subscribe to The Weekly Drop through the link in bio!

This Mother's Day, we'd like to highlight a very special mum — our founder, Miriam Rogers.

Many of the amazing wines we enjoy today were not previously available in Ontario, and there was no easy way to obtain them. Miriam found her own solution: she started importing wine, and in 1984, Rogers & Company was born.

Today you'll find Miriam tending to her urban garage top garden and its bountiful crops! 🥬

We’d also like to make a special shout out to the other wonderful mums at Rogers & Co — .tina our CFO & mum to Harris’ boys, and Brand Associate & mum to three beautiful girls.

We're lucky to know these incredible mums among the many in our lives.

So today (and every day!) we're raising our glasses to all mums, past and present, for all that they do 🤍

Since the family estate vineyard was founded in 1933, the Cocci Grifoni family has strived to live in harmony with nature, acting as stewards of the land 🍷

When Guido Cocci Grifoni took over his family’s estate in the Piceno (a hilly area of Italy’s Marche region removed from the rest of Italy and dotted with small land-holders & Renaissance villages), his plans likely seemed a little unusual to the established farmers and vineyard owners of the day.

Guido’s vision was a drastic departure that came to define the region in an entirely new way - he had discovered an ancient indigenous grape variety that had disappeared for years, Pecorino, and went on to craft one of Italy’s most endearing white wines from it ✨

The Cocci Grifoni family is largely responsible for the recovery of this grape variety, which has saved a piece of Italy’s winemaking history and helped an entire region find a pure vision of terroir.

Currently, it is the Cocci Grifoni women, Marilena and Paola Cocci Grifoni, who now run the prestigious family business 🌹

If you’d like to get to know the Hirsch style (and you should!), consider this the perfect entry - a vibrant, inviting wine made from the indigenous Austrian Grüner Veltliner.

It is a Grüner Veltliner that combines pure Hirsch pleasure (“Hirschvergnügen“) with pure class.

Hirsch operates with a very gentle whole-cluster pressing technique that lasts for five or six hours before the wine ferments and matures in stainless steel.

This approach delivers typical beautiful Grüner spice with remarkable clarity - citrus zest, pear, and green apple are threaded through with woodsy mushroom and white pepper on the nose 🍏

Bright yellow-green, this is a crisp and nervy wine with the easy appeal of juicy fruit and good bite on the palate. Direct and exhilarating 💫

O’Shaughnessy’s 2018 Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon is a gorgeous and multilayered wine that showcases the complexity of all seven (!) of the Bordeaux varietals that they farm.

The wine is dark ruby red with aromas of raspberries, currants, ripe plum, and a touch of smoke.

This very sophisticated Napa Cab shows focused flavours of wild cherry jam, plum butter, and raspberry preserves which are followed by a long finish 🍒

Muscular, but with restrained elegance, this wine carries the O’Shaughnessy trademark of balance and power.

As the average age of Frog’s Leap Zinfandel vines is now 37 years, with the fruits of these vines reaching new heights of complexity and finesse.

A Zinfandel that draws its power from sophistication instead of raw alcohol content — made in the classic field blend style including significant portions of Petite Sirah and Carignan.

Deep purple colour, lush, mouth-filling fruit and perfect balance make for remarkable drinkability.

Pour it with pride next to a dinner of osso buco, but if you can, try to lay some down in your cellar. You’ll thank yourself later 🍇

03/15/2022

Barbour Vineyards in St. Helena is the realization of a lifelong dream of a long-time Napa resident and vintner, Jim Barbour.

Jim grew up on a ranch in the Rutherford area where his family grew prunes, apples and table grapes 🍇
Jim convinced his father to plant five acres of Chardonnay and before long, the family had converted their entire property to wine grapes.

In 1992, Jim and his wife Kathy founded Barbour Vineyards in St. Helena, using clones from Grace Family vines.
His vineyard lies on the valley floor, nestled between the Mayacamas and Vaca mountain ranges and is composed of gravelly and loamy soils that Jim calls "perfect for Cabernet." The vineyard is dry-farmed and sustainably grown. The resulting fruit is beautifully concentrated and expressive.

This is genuinely artisan-level wine growing 🍷

Jim found his perfect partner in winemaker Celia Welch. Celia is one of Napa Valley's most regarded winemakers who has earned a reputation for crafting focused, terroir-driven wines that showcase the purest expression of the vineyards.

Given the care and passion that goes into each bottle, from vineyard to glass, it will come as no surprise that we sell out almost instantly every year.
