We’re so looking forward to next week’s Collage Party with ! It’s happening at on Thursday, November 21 from 7-10PM. There will be sips by , snacks by and an artist talk by . Then we’ll move into the collage room where will facilitate a call and response style of play. We’ll call out an emotion, a feeling, a theme and you will find an image to represent that. It will be a chance to flex your quick thinking processes and allow us to assign meaning to things in abstract ways. From there you can assemble our collage(s) in whichever ways feel most resonant.
Meet our host:
tahsine (b. 198X) is a first-generation canadian daughter of the diaspora with roots in east africa, india, west asia and north america. in arabic, ‘tahsine’ means to enrich, beautify, make better; so it is prescient that she has always been drawn to an artistic expression. tahsine works interdisciplinarily through collage, textile, sculpture and living. she curates embodied assemblages by stitching and pasting together various media and textiles. her thematic influences include – time, space, pace, society, culture, equity, empathy, energy, purpose, and potential – all contributing to our collective states and the spectrum of (well)being. tahsine is a human (be-ing) and a mother of two bright stars (precious seeds).
