Here’s a simple and delicious wine smoothie recipe for the long weekend.

Berry Wine Smoothie

Ingredients:
- 1 cup mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
- 1 banana
- 1 cup red wine (such as Merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon)
- 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
- 1 tablespoon honey (optional, for added sweetness)
- 1 cup ice cubes

1. **Prepare the Ingredients**:
- Wash the mixed berries and remove any stems.
- Peel and slice the banana.

2. **Blend the Ingredients**:
- In a blender, combine the mixed berries, banana, red wine, Greek yogurt, and honey (if using).
- Add the ice cubes.

- Blend on high speed until the mixture is smooth and creamy.

These two wines are exclusive to Wine Making Strathroy and embodies everything that Strathroy has to offer. Picture the serene landscapes and pure elegance of Strathroy bottled up with crisp, refreshing notes that make this wine perfect for any occasion. Give yourself and your guests a taste of our History and Culture.

Rural Red - is a medium-bodied blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc red wine with notes of toasty black cherry and blackberry matched by a medium oak presence. What's also toasty is this dry red's stout alcohol level at 13% by volume. The blend includes medium toast French oak chips. Medium toast French oak is subtle and provides refined flavors of custard, chocolate, and spice. French oak in general is often used by winemakers when they want to increase the mouthfeel and complexity of a wine without stepping on or suppressing the fruit.

Sydenham Chardonnay – A Bourbon Chardonnay offers a full spectrum of expressions, and is assumed to be full-bodied with a buttery texture and prominent bourbon character. Our spin on this classic has highly expressive tree fruit flavors of green apple, pear and apricot with a hint of bourbon. With an alcohol level of 12.5% this Chardonnay features a dry finish and medium body.

Bottling wine is the crowning moment of any winemaking journey. After patiently nurturing your wine, it's time to capture its essence in a bottle. Here's a quick guide:

Prep Your Bottles:
Ensure your bottles are clean and sanitized. This step is crucial to maintaining the purity of your wine and preventing contamination.

Transfer with Care:
We use state of the art equipment to transfer and filter your wine into the bottles. This minimizes sediment and oxygen exposure, preserving the wine's quality; all done in 15 min or less per batch.

Perfect the Fill Level:
We leave about an inch of headspace to prevent oxidation. Pay attention to this detail to maintain the wine's freshness and flavor.

Seal the Deal:
Whether using corks or screw caps, choose your preferred sealing method. A well-sealed bottle is key to preserving your wine for the long haul. Cork is the best way, however we do use a bladder filling method as well. At the end of the day its your choice.

Label and Store:
Add labels with key details like the wine type and vintage. Then, leave upright for a week, then store your bottles on their side in a cool, dark place to allow the wine to mature and develop its character. The wine doesn't care but if you do ask us about these options to label your wine.

Bottling wine is the final touch in the art of winemaking. With a little attention to detail, you'll be toasting to your own expertly bottled creations in no time. Cheers! 🍷✨
