Contest Rules

To participate, contestants will post a photo on social media of their favourite shop, restaurant, or service provider in the ByWard Market district. Contestants will tag and the business’ account on their post and tell us why this business is an essential stop on their holiday rounds.

The photo contest will run on Instagram and Facebook from Nov. 24th to Dec. 21st, with the grand prize winner announced on Friday, December 22nd at noon. Contestants’ support of small businesses will be rewarded with a chance to win a grand prize of gift cards to establishments within the district!

How does this contest support the small business community?

Contestants’ positive experiences at ByWard Market businesses will be shared on the BMDA’s social media, highlighting the featured business for what sets them apart. By sharing the contestants' entries to the BMDA’s 25,200 followers on Instagram and 15,000 on Facebook, featured businesses will benefit from increased online publicity.

How does this social media campaign benefit the ByWard Market district?

Photo entries and positive customer reviews on social media contribute to the district’s image and reputation as a unique shopping experience. The latter is essential in bringing consistent and valuable foot traffic to the district.

How can I help make this campaign a success?

With the goal to maximize spending within the district, the grand prize will comprise of a gift card pack to businesses in the area, currently valued at $1000. Offering gift cards as the grand prize incentivizes customers to spend within the district both before and after the contest.

Les 2 têtes (ou les 2 cœurs!) derrière Concept Connivence.

🙋‍♀️ Moi, c’est Sylvie. Je suis diplômée de ITHQ - Institut de tourisme et d'hôtellerie du Québec et je rêvais de créer ma propre ligne de produits gourmets. Tout a commencé quand j’avais ma boutique d’articles de cuisine…

🙋‍♂️ J’y ai rencontré Normand, qui était représentant alimentaire auprès des épiceries fines. Il était également propriétaire d’une entreprise de vente et distribution de produits gourmets au Québec, et il avait le même rêve que moi.

Un déclic. La même vision. C’était en fait, l’évidence! On a uni nos forces et notre passion pour créer Concept Connivence. Depuis 2012, on fait vivre des expériences culinaires grâce à nos produits fins.

❤️ Du plateau de charcuterie durant un 5 à 7 avec les collègues, au souper gourmet en amoureux jusqu’au brunch familial du dimanche, on s’amuse à créer des produits de qualité qui sauront marquer vos papilles gustatives.

Au final, on a qu’une mission : partager notre passion au travers de nos produits décadents!

Please be advised that their Royal Highnesses Prince Charles and Camilla Bowles, Duchess of Cornwall, will be visiting the ByWard Market today, Wednesday May 18, 2022 between 12:00pm - 1:00pm.

We encourage you to help us welcome the Royal couple along with their teams as they take in the area and some of the finest offerings Ottawa provides.

The Royals will be walking through the area with a brief stop on George St. Plaza before they move onto their next engagement.
