SANDY BEACH VILLAGE STORE – IMPORTANT MESSAGE FOR OUR CUSTOMERS
Management and staff at SBV Store, would like to express our sincere thanks to all of our customers for your ongoing patronage! Thanks to your support, we have been able to increase our hours for staff (all of whom live in our village and surrounding area) as well as increase the scope of our inventory, adding to the options available to our residents for local shopping!
Unfortunately, it has recently come to my attention, that a local resident and an anonymous “keyboard warrior” have been harassing, photographing and posting on social media accounts, unfounded, unproven information related to some of our customers as well as residents of Sandy Beach, Sunrise, and Alexander residents. These accusations are based on the person’s OPINIONS (not proven) and have caused unnecessary grief for many of the subjects included in the posts. Photographs posted have included the store and/or it’s property leading to complaints from staff as well as unease for some of our customers.
I have discussed these incidents with R.C.M.P., who have assured me that this conduct is not legal nor warranted and the person conducting himself as the village vigilante/freedom fighter has no right to be conducting himself in this manner. Continuation of same may result in trespassing violation and harassment changes being brought against him should there be further incidents. Facts, not assumptions and opinions, should be reported to the local police and not plastered all over social media accounts.
As customer satisfaction, safety and privacy are top priorities for myself and my staff, I would ask any of our patrons with concerns, to contact myself directly(780-967-0441) in order that information can be passed on to authorities. Harassment or unfounded accusations lobbied again individuals based on assumptions and unproven ‘facts’, serve no purpose other than to create unease and distrust amongst our neighbours, friends and patrons and should not be tolerated.
Once again, our apologies go out to those of you affected by these recent incidents. Please rest assured, providing a safe and caring environment for our customers is a paramount priority.
