Exciting news: We're starting an Adventure Tourism Company! ⛰️

After an amazing couple years as Nordegg Escape, we’re thrilled to announce a new chapter for our family! We’re becoming – a name that better reflects the adventure, beauty, and spirit of the experiences we offer.

We started with a couple guidebooks and an Airbnb, but as passionate locals who’ve called this area home and worked in the outdoor industry for most of our adult lives, it only made sense to expand into the adventure tourism world. Our love for the Rockies goes beyond accommodations, and we will now be offering incredible experiences like ice bubble tours, heli-hiking, e-bike tours, side-by-side adventures and more!

We will still be posting similar content in addition to exciting tours, packages, conditions of the area, and behind the scenes fun! We can’t wait to share this new chapter with you! 🤗

Opa Bee is fundraising for MS! 🚲

I started to ride in the MS Bike Tour in 2001 on my cousins’ team and I discovered that I absolutely loved long distance riding. Every time I get on a bike my mind goes back to the exhilarating feeling of freedom and anticipation of adventure I would get as a kid when I “borrowed my big sisters” bike for a day of aimless exploring.

For the past 10 years I have been riding a 1937 single speed clunker. Why? Besides making a spectacle of myself, I want to demonstrate that hi-tech gear is not needed to participate in the ride. Almost anybody can do it. If you would like to ride with us on June 22, please let me know.

My “proud to be humble“ upbringing has made it difficult to ask people to sponsor me and since I have retired and no longer have a large network to reach, my fundraising has been quite dismal.

I also have the disadvantage of not being on any social media. If you are on social media, I would appreciate if you could pass on my fundraising appeal far and wide through your networks.

Synopsis:
Vonda, secretly, shamefully and sadly, had a baby, alone, in an u***d mother’s home in Edmonton, in 1958. She placed her baby boy for adoption and then never spoke of the heartache, for 33 years! She married, had two other children and silently celebrated his birthdays. She spent time day dreaming how life would be with another child, an older brother. 

In 1991, Vonda bravely decided to break the silence, told her adult children, and started the search for her first born. 

This memoir, written together with her first born Kelly, is a story of her yearning, their separate lives and their reunion. A beautifully told story of mother’s love and a son who didn’t know what he was missing, until he did♡
