We are excited to share that we are in the process of taking our dream to the next level and will be making some major changes to our Vineyard and Winery over the next few months. As a result, we will be closed to the public this summer.

To our customers, partners, and the community - thank you for all of your support over the last 12 years. It's because of you all that we are able to make these updates and we can't wait to welcome to you to a new experience in 2025.

When you think of wine, do you think of the farms that grow the grapes? We do! Here in thousands of people are directly employed on farms that make our wine. When you buy , you support local farms and farmers. While times are tough, where you choose to spend your disposable income (things like wine!) makes a big difference. We all grow together if we help contribute to our truly local economy.

What's in a name?

Eileanan Breagha, pronounced Ay-len-an Bree-ah, is Scottish Gaelic for "Beautiful Islands". With our Scottish ancestry and beautiful view of the islands along the Bras D'Or Lake here in Cape Breton this name was only fitting.

This is an awesome way to bring wine on your travels without having to check a bag...the store is located past security at the international airport. We are super excited to join the other local NS wines in their lineup and represent Cape Breton!

Lots to be thankful for this year.

Harvest 2023 was a challenge...there were a lot of factors both in and out of our control that meant we didn't get the quantity we were looking for. But when we take a step back and look at what happened this year, we have so much to be thankful for. Top of the list is our newest family member of course. But we also met new friends from near and far, tackled projects, and were continually amazed by the help that showed up rain or shine (shout out to Debbi, our Vineyard Manager). Thank you to everyone.

Harvest 2023 has officially begun! And yes...that's our baby having a great ol' nap in the second picture.

We are starting with Lucie Kuhlmann...an early ripening red grape that goes into our Red Marble blend. Truthfully, it has been tough picking so far. Between the after effects of some of the weather from this year, birds, and other pests we didn't get as much as we hoped. But what's coming in is tasty. 💜

We couldn't help but notice this big moon tonight after putting our daughter to bed. It always feels so cozy up here in our farmhouse on nights like this.

Did you know?

We have a row of concord grapes just for fun. The one pictured still has a ways to go before its harvested. After that we plan to make some grape jelly (just for personal use!) 😋 Swipe for the recipe.

Our store is officially closed for the season. Don't worry though we're available year round at your local NSLC, or send us a message to order. Vineyard visits can be set up by appointment.
