01/23/2018
There comes a time that things must change, and 2018 has brought on new changes at Uncle Larry’s. With mixed emotions I am proud to announce that I have handed the reigns over to Yasmin and Sean Jamieson.
Yasmin and Seann have lived in Port Sydney for a couple of years and I have gotten to know them well. They are a fun young couple that I am confident will bring new exciting things to Uncle Larry’s General Store.
I would just like to thank all our amazing customers, you all have been truly very kind and generous to us and it has been an absolute joy for my kids and I to have shared the past 5 1/2 years of our lives with all of you. And we are humbled and blessed that you were gracious enough to share your lives with us.
One of the things I loved most about owning Uncle Larry’s was reconnecting with old friends & acquaintances and meeting a lot of new ones. I loved meeting new pregnant moms as they came in the store for something they had been craving; then meeting their new gorgeous babies, watching them grow and begin to run around the store as their dads chased them. Some of those babies have welcomed new brothers and sisters, some started school last fall, but all of them, as all of you, have a special place in my heart.
Sadly, we said good bye to some dear friends too, but they will be forever in our hearts. We will always cherish the memories and friendships the store has given us.
I always felt like my staff was apart of my family, and over time we would say good bye as they left for college or university, or start new chapters in their lives, and we would welcome new ones. Well, now my own children are both of at university. Halle is attending Dalhousie University in Halifax and Nathan is attending Carleton University in Ottawa. They have grown up so fast and time with them is even more precious now, so as they start new chapters in their lives, it is time that I do too.
So I would like to thank you again for letting us into your lives, for creating new friendships, making memories and for sharing in this experience with us.
From our family to yours, Happy New Year and may our paths meet again in our new adventures.
We will miss the store but mostly we will miss all of you!
